Blue Sea 230V AC and 12V DC distribution panel with 31 circuit positions and analog meters

Blue Sea 230VAC/12VDC Distribution Panel with 12 AC and 19 DC Circuits and 100A DC Main Circuit Breaker

DESCRIPTION

Centralised 230V AC and 12V DC Electrical Management for Complex Power Systems

Managing large-scale marine and off-grid electrical architectures requires a reliable, organised approach to circuit protection and load distribution. The Blue Sea Systems 8186B Distribution Panel integrates both 230V AC and 12V DC power management into a single, cohesive unit. Featuring 12 AC circuit positions and 19 DC circuit positions, this comprehensive switchboard is engineered for larger vessels, commercial vehicles, and sophisticated off-grid setups that demand extensive circuit separation and clear system visibility.

Rather than piecing together multiple sub-panels and disparate gauges, this integrated solution provides a centralised hub for your entire electrical system. By consolidating high-voltage alternating current and low-voltage direct current into one purpose-built enclosure, it streamlines complex wiring looms and improves safety and accessibility for the system operator.

Pre-Wired Architecture for Streamlined Installation

One of the most time-consuming aspects of building a custom electrical board is fabricating and installing the internal busbars and harness connections. This AC/DC distribution panel arrives with all AC and DC buses installed and fully pre-wired from the factory. This engineering approach significantly reduces installation labour, minimises the risk of wiring errors behind the dash, and ensures consistent, secure electrical connections across all 31 circuit positions.

  • Factory Pre-Wired Buses: Installed AC and DC buses simplify complex electrical installations and reduce setup time.
  • Heavy-Duty DC Main Control: Equipped with a 100A C-Series toggle circuit breaker that serves as both main circuit protection and a master disconnect switch for the 12V DC branch.
  • Comprehensive System Monitoring: Integrated analogue meters display real-time AC Volts, AC Amperes, DC Volts, and DC Amperes for immediate visual diagnostics.
  • AC Source Selection with Lockouts: Dedicated shore power and generator source selectors feature mechanical safety lockouts to prevent simultaneous engagement of multiple AC sources.
  • Low-Light Operational Clarity: Backlit circuit labels and ON-indicating LEDs at all 31 circuit positions ensure unmistakable status verification during night passages or in dimly lit utility bays.

Integrated Analogue Metering and Safe Source Switching

Maintaining awareness of your energy consumption and generation is critical when operating off-grid or out at sea. The top section of the panel houses four dedicated analogue meters, giving you an instant readout of both 12V DC battery bank performance and 230V AC load demands. Monitoring your amperage draw helps prevent overloading inverters or generators, while voltage tracking protects your battery bank from excessive discharge.

For systems utilising multiple AC inputs, such as shore power and an onboard generator, the panel incorporates dedicated AC source selection switches. These switches utilise mechanical safety lockouts, physically preventing the accidental bridging of two live AC power sources. This built-in safeguard protects sensitive onboard electronics, inverters, and upstream power supplies from catastrophic back-feeding damage.

Built for Demanding Marine and Off-Grid Environments

Inferior switch panels often suffer from illegible labelling, fragile toggle switches, and exposed rear terminals that corrode or vibrate loose over time. Blue Sea Systems designs their distribution panels to withstand the rigours of marine and mobile applications. The inclusion of a heavy-duty 100A C-Series main circuit breaker provides robust overcurrent protection for your primary DC feed while allowing you to isolate the entire 12V branch with a single throw.

Whether you are conducting a complete electrical refit on a cruising yacht, fitting out a specialized commercial vehicle, or assembling a custom off-grid cabin power wall, this panel delivers professional-grade circuit management. Upgrade your electrical architecture with the Blue Sea 8186B distribution panel for safe, organised, and reliable control over your 230V AC and 12V DC loads.
