20A manual reset-only circuit breaker with red actuator and ignition protected housing

Blue Sea 20A Medium Duty Push Button Reset-Only Circuit Breaker

DESCRIPTION

Reliable Overcurrent Protection for Marine, 4WD, and Off-Grid DC Systems

The Blue Sea Medium Duty 20A Push Button Reset-Only Circuit Breaker delivers robust, dependable overcurrent protection for auxiliary circuits where dedicated switching is managed elsewhere or is not required. Engineered specifically for demanding mobile, marine, and off-grid electrical environments, this unit safeguards critical 20A loads against short circuits and sustained overloads without the hassle of carrying spare fuses.

Whether you are wiring a 24-hour bilge pump circuit on a vessel, protecting solar charge controller feeds in a caravan, or securing auxiliary power outlets in a 4WD canopy, this compact breaker offers professional-grade safety and streamlined installation.

Engineered for Harsh Environments and High-Risk Zones

Electrical components installed in marine hulls, boat bilges, and vehicle engine bays face constant exposure to moisture, vibration, and potential fuel vapours. This circuit breaker features a fully weatherproof and ignition-protected housing. Ignition protection is a critical safety standard for petrol-powered boats and specialised utility vehicles, ensuring the internal mechanism will not ignite surrounding explosive gases if the breaker trips under a heavy fault load.

Unlike standard unsealed breakers or basic fuse holders that can corrode, loosen, or fail prematurely when exposed to salt spray and road grime, this Blue Sea Systems unit maintains circuit integrity in exposed mounting locations.

Key Features and Technical Benefits

  • Trip-Free Mechanism: Internal contacts cannot be manually held closed during an active fault current condition, preventing wire overheating and equipment damage.
  • Ignition Protected Housing: Safe for installation aboard petrol-powered boats and near battery or fuel enclosures.
  • Weatherproof Construction: Resists moisture, dust, and salt spray ingress in exposed marine and automotive applications.
  • Captive Star Lock Washers: Integrated onto the terminal studs to meet anti-rotation requirements, preventing loose connections from vibration and eliminating dropped washers in tight spaces.
  • Compact Surface-Mount Footprint: Integrated mounting flange with pre-drilled holes supports high-density circuit protection layouts in confined electrical panels.
  • Push-to-Reset Operation: High-visibility red manual reset button clearly indicates a tripped state and prevents accidental manual switching of critical circuits.

Why Choose a Reset-Only Breaker?

A reset-only actuator is purpose-built for circuits that must remain continuously powered unless an electrical fault occurs. Because the button cannot be manually pulled or switched off, it eliminates the risk of accidentally disconnecting essential equipment such as automatic bilge pumps, security monitoring systems, battery management accessories, or fridge lines. If an overload occurs, the red actuator pops out for immediate visual identification and requires a simple push to restore power once the fault is cleared.

Streamlined, Vibration-Resistant Installation

Working inside cramped electrical cabinets or behind vehicle dashboards can be challenging. The inclusion of captive star lock washers on the threaded terminal studs means installers do not have to fumble with tiny, loose hardware. These washers bite securely into the ring terminal, meeting strict marine anti-rotation standards and ensuring your electrical connections remain tight despite heavy corrugations or wave impacts.

Upgrade Your Circuit Protection

Integrate the Blue Sea Medium Duty 20A Push Button Circuit Breaker into your DC power distribution setup today for safe, compliant, and maintenance-free circuit protection across your marine or off-grid system.
