Blue Sea 20A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker White
Blue Sea 20A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker White
Magnetic-Hydraulic AC Main Protection with Trip-Free Safety Design

DESCRIPTION
Integrated Switching and AC Main Circuit Protection
The Blue Sea A-Series 20A Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker (BS-7260B) is engineered to provide reliable overcurrent protection and manual switching in a single, compact device. Designed primarily for AC main circuit protection in marine, caravan, and off-grid power distribution panels, this component eliminates the need for separate switches and fuse holders. By consolidating these functions, system builders and electrical installers can achieve cleaner panel layouts, reduce wiring complexity, and minimise potential points of failure behind the dash or distribution board.
Advanced Magnetic-Hydraulic Technology
Unlike standard thermal breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, this A-Series unit utilises a precision magnetic-hydraulic mechanism. Standard thermal breakers can suffer from nuisance tripping when exposed to high ambient temperatures in enclosed engine bays, boat cabins, or caravan electrical cabinets. A magnetic-hydraulic circuit breaker senses only the actual current flowing through the circuit, ensuring consistent, accurate trip performance regardless of surrounding temperature fluctuations. This provides superior reliability when operating in harsh Australian climates.
Simultaneous Double-Pole Disconnection and Trip-Free Safety
When managing AC main power, such as shore power inlets, inverters, or onboard generators, isolating both the active (hot) and neutral lines simultaneously is a critical safety requirement. This double-pole breaker features mechanically joined white toggle handles that ensure both poles disconnect together when switched off or when an overcurrent fault occurs on either line. Furthermore, the internal mechanism incorporates a trip-free design. This vital safety feature ensures the breaker cannot be manually held in the ON position during an active fault-current condition, protecting wiring and connected appliances from severe damage or fire risks.
Key Features and Benefits
- Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation: Delivers precise overcurrent protection that is unaffected by ambient temperature variations.
- Dual-Function Design: Combines heavy-duty manual switching and circuit protection into one unit to save panel space.
- Joined Double-Pole Toggle: Ensures simultaneous disconnection of both poles, making it the industry standard for AC main circuit isolation.
- Trip-Free Mechanism: Prevents the actuator from being forced or held closed while a fault condition persists.
- Secure Front-Panel Mounting: Equipped with integrated brass threaded inserts for straightforward, durable installation into custom or pre-fabricated switch panels.
- Global Compliance: Meets strict ABYC standards, and is UL 1077 recognised, TUV certified, CE marked for Europe, and CSA certified for Canada.
Engineered for Demanding Marine and Mobile Environments
Inferior circuit protection components can corrode, degrade, or fail to trip accurately when exposed to vibration and moisture. The Blue Sea A-Series is built to meet stringent international standards, including ABYC requirements for marine electrical systems. The clear 20A rating stamped on the white toggle face allows for quick visual identification on crowded electrical panels, while the robust housing and brass mounting inserts ensure longevity in high-vibration mobile and marine applications.
