Blue Sea 20A 4-Circuit Terminal Block

DESCRIPTION

Reliable Electrical Distribution for Marine, Automotive, and Off-Grid Systems

Organising low-amperage wiring in confined spaces requires hardware that prioritises electrical isolation and physical durability. The Blue Sea Systems 2404B Terminal Block is engineered to simplify point-to-point wiring across four discrete circuits, rated up to 20A continuous per circuit. Whether you are fitting out a marine helm, upgrading a 4WD canopy, or wiring control circuits in a caravan 12V or 24V electrical system, this unit provides a clean, professional termination point that eliminates messy inline splices and uninsulated connection points.

Enhanced Safety with Closed-Back Insulation

A critical vulnerability in many mobile and marine electrical setups is the risk of accidental short circuits against conductive mounting surfaces. Standard open-back blocks require separate insulating strips when mounted to aluminium boat hulls, steel vehicle chassis, or metal enclosures. This Blue Sea terminal block features a fully integrated closed-back design, which completely insulates live electrical connections from the mounting substrate. This reduces installation time and significantly lowers the risk of ground faults, stray current corrosion, and electrical fires in high-vibration environments.

Key Features and Construction Benefits

  • Four Isolated Circuits: Each screw pair forms a completely independent circuit, allowing you to route different voltages, sensor lines, or switched feeds through a single compact footprint.
  • Closed-Back Base: Fully insulates power from the mounting surface, making it safe for direct installation onto metal bulkheads, vehicle body panels, and conductive distribution boards.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Hardware: Equipped with eight nickel-plated brass screw terminals that resist oxidation and corrosion in damp, coastal, and marine environments while maintaining low contact resistance.
  • High-Profile Moulded Barriers: Deep phenolic-style barriers between each terminal pair prevent ring or spade terminals from rotating and accidentally bridging adjacent circuits.
  • Adaptable Circuit Grouping: Compatible with terminal block jumpers, allowing adjacent poles to be linked together to create common positive or negative distribution busbars when system requirements change.
  • Secure Surface Mounting: Pre-drilled mounting holes at either end allow for straightforward, rigid attachment to any flat panel or bulkhead.

Built to Outperform Standard Hardware

In demanding off-grid and marine applications, inferior terminal blocks often suffer from brittle plastic housings that crack under fastening torque, or plated steel screws that rapidly rust and cause high-resistance hot spots. Blue Sea Systems constructs this unit with a tough, heat-stabilised housing and marine-grade nickel-plated brass terminals. The tall protective barriers ensure that even when subject to constant road corrugations or wave impacts, your wire terminations remain physically separated and mechanically secure.

Versatile Applications Across DC and AC Systems

Thanks to its isolated pole architecture, this 4-circuit block is highly adaptable for complex low-current wiring tasks:

  • Marine Dashboards and Helms: Consolidate navigation lights, bilge pump triggers, horn circuits, and instrument illumination in a tidy, serviceable layout.
  • Caravan and Camper Control Wiring: Neatly terminate tank level sensors, water pump switches, thermostat wires, and low-draw LED lighting circuits.
  • 4WD and Commercial Vehicles: Create a centralised junction point for auxiliary relays, driving light triggers, UHF radio power, and canopy accessories.
  • Industrial and Off-Grid Enclosures: Organise inverter remote on/off triggers, battery management system (BMS) signal wires, and solar monitoring leads.

Upgrade Your Wiring Architecture

Bring order, serviceability, and marine-grade reliability to your electrical installation. Add the Blue Sea 20A 4-Circuit Terminal Block to your toolkit today for a cleaner, safer wiring setup across your vessel, vehicle, or off-grid power system.
