Blue Sea 2.5A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - White
Blue Sea 2.5A A-Series Single Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - White
Magnetic Hydraulic Mechanism with Trip-Free Safety for Marine & RV

DESCRIPTION
Combined Circuit Switching and Overcurrent Protection for Marine Panels
The Blue Sea A-Series 2.5A Single-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker delivers industry-standard electrical protection and convenient circuit switching in one compact unit. Engineered specifically for demanding marine, caravan, and off-grid electrical systems, this magnetic hydraulic breaker eliminates the need for separate switches and fuse holders on your distribution panel. By integrating control and overcurrent protection, it simplifies behind-the-panel wiring, reduces connection points that could otherwise fail in high-vibration environments, and saves valuable dashboard space.
The Magnetic Hydraulic Advantage
Unlike standard thermal breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, this A-Series breaker utilises a precision magnetic hydraulic mechanism. Standard thermal units can suffer from nuisance tripping when installed in hot engine rooms, enclosed canopies, or sun-exposed marine consoles, as elevated ambient temperatures prematurely trigger the thermal element. Conversely, a magnetic hydraulic circuit breaker responds purely to current flow through a magnetic coil and a damped hydraulic core. This ensures the 2.5A rating remains consistent and reliable across a wide temperature spectrum, preventing false trips while providing fast, accurate interruption during genuine overload or short-circuit events.
Engineered for Safety: Trip-Free Design
Electrical safety in mobile and marine applications requires fail-safe components. This unit features a mechanical trip-free design, meaning the internal contacts cannot be manually held in the closed (ON) position when a fault current is present. Even if an operator attempts to hold the white toggle actuator up during an active short circuit or overload, the internal mechanism will override the lever and trip open. This critical safety feature protects sensitive 2.5A electronics, prevents wire insulation meltdowns, and significantly reduces the risk of electrical fires aboard vessels or recreational vehicles.
Key Features and Benefits
- Dual-Function Design: Combines manual ON/OFF circuit switching with automatic overcurrent protection in a single device.
- Magnetic Hydraulic Operation: Delivers temperature-stable trip performance, unaffected by high ambient heat in enclosed electrical cabinets.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Cannot be forced to stay ON during an active electrical fault, protecting wiring and connected equipment.
- Clear Visual Indicators: Features an ergonomic white toggle actuator with a distinct OFF position indicator and a front-facing 2.5A amperage stamp for rapid panel identification.
- Robust Panel Mounting: Built with corrosion-resistant threaded brass inserts on the front face for secure, vibration-resistant installation into Blue Sea Systems panels or custom switchboards.
Ideal Applications for 2.5A Protection
A 2.5A circuit breaker is specifically suited for low-current, sensitive electronic circuits where standard higher-amperage fuses would fail to trip before damage occurs. It is an ideal choice for protecting:
- Marine navigation instruments, chartplotters, and NMEA 2000 network power drops
- Low-draw LED cabin lighting, anchor lights, and instrument backlighting circuits
- Bilge alarm sensors, gas detectors, and automated monitoring relays
- Telemetry systems, router power supplies, and communication radios in RVs and 4WD canopies
Upgrade Your Electrical Distribution Panel
Ensure your low-amperage circuits are safeguarded against faults with professional-grade componentry. Add the Blue Sea A-Series 2.5A Toggle Circuit Breaker to your custom switchboard or marine panel assembly today for dependable, long-term electrical protection.
