Blue Sea 15A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Black
Blue Sea 15A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Black
Magnetic-Hydraulic Mechanism - Trip-Free Safety & Linked Poles

DESCRIPTION
Magnetic-Hydraulic Circuit Protection and Switching for Demanding Electrical Panels
The Blue Sea A-Series 15A Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker combines reliable circuit switching and robust overcurrent protection into a single panel-mounted device. Engineered for high-standard marine, RV, caravan, and off-grid electrical systems, this dual-purpose unit eliminates the need for separate switches and fuse holders, streamlining your distribution panel layout and simplifying wiring complexity.
Featuring a common trip linkage across its dual toggles, this double-pole breaker ensures that if an overcurrent fault occurs on either line, both poles disconnect simultaneously. This simultaneous isolation is critical for applications requiring complete circuit disconnection, such as AC main power inputs (breaking both active and neutral lines) or multi-wire DC distribution setups.
Why Choose a Magnetic-Hydraulic Mechanism?
Unlike standard thermal circuit breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, the Blue Sea A-Series utilises a precision magnetic-hydraulic operating mechanism. Standard thermal breakers can suffer from nuisance tripping in hot engine bays, enclosed electrical cabinets, or harsh Australian summer conditions because ambient heat lowers their trip threshold. Conversely, a magnetic-hydraulic breaker responds strictly to current flow rather than ambient temperature. This ensures consistent, predictable 15A circuit protection regardless of the surrounding environment.
Engineered for Safety and Longevity
When working with high-energy battery banks or AC shore power systems, preventing accidental overrides during a fault is essential for system safety. This unit incorporates a trip-free design, meaning the internal contacts cannot be manually held in the ON position while a fault current is present. Even if the toggle actuator is physically held up, the internal mechanism will still trip to protect your wiring and appliances from thermal damage or fire risks.
- Dual Functionality: Combines manual circuit switching and automatic overcurrent protection in one compact unit.
- Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation: Immune to ambient temperature fluctuations, preventing nuisance tripping in hot environments.
- Linked Double-Pole Toggles: Common trip linkage guarantees both poles disconnect together if a fault is detected on either circuit.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Internal contacts cannot be forced to remain closed during an active overcurrent event.
- Robust Panel Mounting: Equipped with durable brass-threaded mounting inserts for secure, vibration-resistant installation into switch panels.
- Clear Identification: Features a clean black toggle finish with a detailed side-mounted technical label for straightforward compliance verification during installation.
Ideal Applications
The A-Series double-pole breaker is widely recognised as an industry standard for custom switchboards and electrical distribution panels. Its simultaneous two-pole disconnection makes it well suited for:
- Marine Switchboards: Isolating shore power, inverters, or critical dual-line DC circuits on boats and yachts.
- Caravan and RV Power Systems: Managing incoming AC mains or protecting sensitive off-grid power distribution equipment.
- Off-Grid and Industrial Panels: Providing dependable, temperature-stable overcurrent protection in unconditioned sheds, enclosures, and service vehicles.
Upgrade Your Electrical Panel Protection
Ensure your electrical distribution system is protected against overcurrent faults with professional-grade components. Integrate the Blue Sea A-Series 15A Double-Pole Circuit Breaker into your next marine, RV, or off-grid panel build for dependable switching and circuit safety.
