Blue Sea 15A 8-Position DC Distribution Panel
Blue Sea 15A 8-Position DC Distribution Panel
Pre-Wired Positive, Negative & Grounding Buses with Backlit Labels

DESCRIPTION
Centralised DC Circuit Management and Protection
Streamlined Electrical Architecture for Marine, RV, and Off-Grid Systems
Organising complex low-voltage electrical systems requires a reliable, centralised distribution point. The Blue Sea Systems 8-Position DC Distribution Panel is engineered to simplify wiring installations while delivering dependable circuit protection and switching. By combining switching and overcurrent protection into a single cohesive unit, this panel eliminates the disorganized wiring harnesses and Exposed terminal blocks often found in basic setups.
Designed for demanding mobile and marine environments, this traditional metal panel arrives fully pre-wired with positive, negative, and grounding buses already installed. This factory-configured architecture significantly reduces installation time, minimises the risk of wiring errors during fit-out, and ensures a clean, professional finish behind the dash or bulkhead.
Clear Status Indication in Low-Light Environments
Operating a vessel, caravan, or off-grid cabin at night requires intuitive and visible controls. This distribution panel features integrated backlit circuit label positions as standard, requiring no additional custom kits or secondary wiring to illuminate your system layout. Paired with amber ON-indicating LEDs in every circuit position, operators can instantly verify which loads are active at a glance, preventing accidental battery drain from forgotten appliances or lighting circuits.
- Fully Pre-Wired Busbars: Includes factory-installed positive, negative, and grounding buses for rapid, consolidated termination.
- Integrated Circuit Protection: Uses white toggle magnetic circuit breakers (up to 15A rating) that serve as both the switch and overcurrent protection device.
- Backlit Label Positions: Standard illumination across all label slots ensures effortless identification in dark cabins or helm stations without extra upgrade kits.
- Active Circuit Indicators: Installed ON-indicating LEDs provide immediate visual confirmation of live circuits.
- Expandable Layout: Supplied with active 15A circuit breakers and plugged expansion slots, allowing you to customise and add extra breakers as your power system grows.
Why Upgrade to a Pre-Wired Blue Sea Panel?
Building a custom switch panel from individual unbranded components often leads to excessive voltage drop, loose connections due to road or wave vibration, and difficult fault-finding. The Blue Sea BS-8023B solves these challenges by utilising marine-grade components designed to withstand harsh Australian coastal and outback conditions. The consolidated busbar design reduces the number of individual crimp connections required, directly lowering the risk of high-resistance hot spots and electrical failures.
Versatile Applications and System Compatibility
While widely recognised as an industry standard for marine 12V switch panels on yachts, powerboats, and commercial vessels, the robust construction of this 8-position panel makes it equally effective for land-based mobile applications. It is an ideal control centre for:
- Marine Vessels: Controlling navigation lights, bilge pumps, cabin lighting, and marine electronics.
- Caravans and Motorhomes: Managing water pumps, diesel heaters, 12V fans, and auxiliary lighting circuits.
- 4WD Canopy and Service Body Fit-Outs: Centralising work lights, compressors, and inverter remote circuits in a durable enclosure.
- Off-Grid Cabins and Tiny Homes: Providing a safe, accessible DC breaker box for low-voltage domestic appliances.
Note on System Voltage and Metering: This standard distribution panel does not include an analog or digital meter. For systems integrating compatible Blue Sea analog meter configurations, panels can be owner-upgraded for 24V DC operation using appropriate 18–32V DC meters (such as the 8240 or 8243 series).
