Blue Sea 150A C-Series Double-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker

DESCRIPTION

Integrated Switching and Overcurrent Protection for Heavy-Duty Loads

Managing high-current electrical systems in marine, caravan, and off-grid installations requires dependable overcurrent protection and safe circuit isolation. The Blue Sea C-Series 150A Double-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker integrates both manual switching and thermal-magnetic circuit protection into a single, compact device. Designed specifically for demanding applications such as large inverters, bow thrusters, and windlasses, this heavy-duty breaker eliminates the need to install a separate high-amperage switch and fuse holder. By consolidating your electrical components, you reduce potential failure points, minimise voltage drop across extra connections, and save valuable panel space in tight electrical enclosures.

Engineered for Safety: Flush Actuator and Trip-Free Mechanism

In mobile and marine environments, accidental switching of critical equipment can lead to operational hazards or system downtime. This C-Series model features a specialised flat rocker actuator that sits completely flush with the mounting bezel when in the ON position. This low-profile contour prevents unintended activation or deactivation caused by movement, snagged gear, or accidental bumps in cramped battery lockers and helm stations. When the circuit is switched or tripped to the OFF position, a prominent colour indicator becomes visible on the actuator, allowing operators to verify the status of the circuit at a glance.

To protect expensive power electronics and cabling from sustained overload or short-circuit events, the internal mechanism utilises a strict trip-free design. If an overcurrent fault occurs, the breaker will trip open even if the rocker actuator is manually held in the ON position. This vital safety feature ensures that an operator cannot inadvertently force power through a compromised circuit until the underlying electrical fault is resolved and the breaker is properly reset.

Paralleled Pole Architecture and Robust Termination

Delivering a continuous 150A rating within a standard C-Series footprint is achieved through a paralleled double-pole configuration. By distributing the electrical load across two internal poles linked to a unified actuator, the breaker maintains reliable thermal performance without requiring an oversized industrial frame. The rear of the unit is equipped with heavy-duty 5/16-inch (approx. 8mm or M8) stud terminals on the bus. These robust studs accommodate large-gauge ring terminals required for high-draw appliances, ensuring a high-pressure, low-resistance mechanical connection that resists loosening under heavy vibration.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Dual-Function Design: Combines manual circuit switching and 150A overcurrent protection into one integrated unit.
  • Flush Flat Rocker: Sits level in the ON position to prevent accidental switching in high-traffic or tight installation areas.
  • Visual Status Indicator: Colour-coded actuator clearly reveals when the breaker is in the OFF or tripped state.
  • Trip-Free Safety Operation: Internal mechanism disconnects the load during a fault and cannot be manually held closed.
  • Heavy-Duty Connections: Features 5/16-inch (approx. 8mm) rear stud terminals on the bus to securely fasten large-capacity battery and inverter cables.
  • Paralleled Poles: Distributes high-amperage loads across dual poles for reliable performance in a compact profile.

Ideal Applications

Built to handle high inrush currents and continuous heavy loads, the Blue Sea Systems BS-7475B is suited for a variety of demanding DC power setups:

  • Main circuit protection and isolation for high-output 12V, 24V, or 48V inverters in caravans, motorhomes, and off-grid cabins
  • Dedicated overcurrent safety for marine bow thrusters and anchor windlasses
  • High-amperage battery bank isolation and primary distribution protection in commercial vehicles and 4WD canopy setups

Upgrade Your High-Current Circuit Protection

Ensure your high-draw appliances and wiring infrastructure are properly safeguarded against electrical faults. Add the Blue Sea C-Series 150A Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker to your system build for reliable, space-saving switching and overcurrent protection.
