Blue Sea 12VDC WeatherDeck Waterproof Switch Panel, Grey 2P
Blue Sea 12VDC WeatherDeck Waterproof Switch Panel, Grey 2P
IP67 Front Protection, Integrated Switch Guards & UV-Stabilised

DESCRIPTION
Compact, Weather-Resistant Marine Switch Control for Exposed Dashboards
Engineered specifically for open-cockpit vessels, flybridges, and exposed marine dashboards, the Blue Sea Systems WeatherDeck 2-position switch panel delivers dependable 12V DC circuit control where moisture, salt spray, and harsh sunlight are constant factors. Standard automotive switches often fail quickly in marine environments due to water ingress and UV degradation. The WeatherDeck series mitigates these risks by combining robust environmental sealing with practical operational safeguards, making it an ideal choice for smaller vessels, tinnies, and specialised auxiliary stations.
IP67 Front Protection Against Water Ingress
When properly installed using a watertight mounting gasket, the front of this switch panel achieves an IP67 ingress protection rating. This means the external face is sealed against dust and capable of withstanding temporary water immersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Combined with internal waterproof toggle boots that shield the switch mechanisms from spray and washdowns, this panel significantly reduces the risk of corrosion and electrical shorts behind the dash. Please note that the IP67 rating applies strictly to the panel front when correctly mounted, rather than the rear wiring assembly.
Prevent Accidental Activation in Rough Conditions
Navigating choppy waters or moving around a tight console can easily lead to bumped switches and unintended equipment operation. To prevent this, the panel features moulded, integrated switch guards flanking the toggle boots. These raised guards physically shield the toggles from accidental knocks from knees, ropes, or gear, ensuring vital accessories like bilge pumps, bait tank aerators, or washdown pumps are only activated intentionally.
Key Features and Benefits
- IP67 Rated Front Panel: Protects against heavy spray and temporary immersion (up to 1 metre for 30 minutes) when installed with a watertight gasket.
- Integrated Switch Guards: Moulded barriers around the toggles reduce the risk of accidental switching in rough seas or tight helm spaces.
- UV-Stabilised Faceplate: Built to resist discolouration, cracking, and degradation caused by prolonged exposure to harsh Australian sun and salt air.
- Four Mounting Orientations: Can be installed vertically, horizontally, or inverted to suit tight or unconventional dashboard layouts.
- Snap-On Concealed Fastening: The outer faceplate snaps securely on and off, providing straightforward access for maintenance while hiding mounting screws for a clean, snag-free finish.
Streamlined Design for Custom Circuit Protection
This specific WeatherDeck model is designed purely for switching control and intentionally excludes built-in circuit protection (fuses or circuit breakers) and backlighting. This streamlined configuration is ideal for marine electrical setups where circuit protection is already managed centrally, such as via a dedicated fuse block or remote circuit breaker panel located in a dry locker. The absence of backlighting also ensures zero parasitic current draw on your 12V battery bank when the switches are idle, and prevents unwanted glare on the helm during night navigation.
Applications and Installation Flexibility
With its compact 2-position footprint and four-way mounting orientation, this grey switch panel fits neatly into narrow console pillars, transom workstations, or rigid inflatable boat (RIB) tubes. It is well-suited for controlling dedicated pairs of marine accessories, such as bait pumps, deck washdown systems, anchor winches, or auxiliary deck lighting. Upgrade your vessel's exposed helm or cockpit workstation with the Blue Sea WeatherDeck 2P Switch Panel for reliable, weather-resistant accessory control.
