Blue Sea 12V/24VDC 6 Position Circuit Breaker Switch Panel, White
IP66 Weather-Resistant Front, Ignition Protected & Contura LED Switches

DESCRIPTION
Weather-Resistant Marine DC Distribution and Circuit Protection
Engineered specifically for exposed marine environments such as flybridges and open cockpits, the Blue Sea Systems 8273B delivers dependable electrical distribution and circuit protection in one integrated unit. Managing onboard electronics, lighting, and auxiliary accessories on open vessels requires equipment capable of withstanding constant exposure to spray, rain, and high humidity. Standard automotive switch panels quickly succumb to corrosion and moisture ingress in these conditions, leading to intermittent electrical faults or hazardous short circuits. This dedicated marine switch panel resolves those challenges by combining sealed components with an IP66-rated front face.
Engineered for Harsh Marine Environments
The primary advantage of this 6-position panel is its ability to maintain a watertight seal at the helm or console. When properly installed using the included heavy-duty watertight mounting gasket, the front of the panel achieves an IP66 ingress protection rating. This ensures the internal electrical connections and busbars behind the dash are shielded against powerful water jets and heavy seas. Furthermore, each push-button reset-only circuit breaker is fitted with a flexible waterproof boot to prevent saltwater intrusion around the mechanical reset mechanism.
Safe Operation Aboard Petrol and Diesel Vessels
Safety is critical when designing 12V and 24V DC marine electrical systems. The Contura rocker switches and thermal circuit breakers utilised in this assembly are fully ignition protected. This means the components are engineered so they will not ignite flammable vapour mixtures, making the panel compliant and safe for installation aboard petrol-powered (gasoline) inboard and outboard boats, as well as diesel vessels and high-moisture off-grid vehicles.
Intuitive Night and Day Control
Operating a vessel in low-light conditions or rough water requires clear, unmistakable feedback from your helm controls. Each ON-OFF Contura switch features an embedded LED indicator that illuminates when the circuit is active, allowing the skipper to verify the status of navigation lights, bilge pumps, or cabin accessories at a glance. The panel also incorporates square circuit label positions for clean, organised identification of each load.
Key Features and Technical Advantages
- Dual Voltage Compatibility: Ready for integration into both 12V DC and 24V DC electrical systems without modification.
- IP66 Front Protection: Withstands powerful water jets from any direction, ideal for open centre consoles, runabouts, and flybridges.
- Contura Rocker Switches: Proven marine-grade ON-OFF switches with tactile operation and embedded ON-indicating LEDs.
- Integrated Circuit Breakers: Six push-button reset-only thermal breakers eliminate the need to carry spare fuses on the water.
- Ignition Protected: Safe for installation in compartments or consoles on petrol-powered boats.
- Complete Sealing System: Supplied with a watertight mounting gasket and waterproof breaker boots for a secure, flush installation.
- Clean Aesthetic: Durable white finish complements modern fiberglass helms and marine dashboards.
Versatile Applications
While purpose-built for marine consoles, the robust sealing and dual-voltage architecture make this distribution panel highly effective for a variety of demanding setups:
- Open-cockpit fishing boats, RIBs, and centre consoles
- Yacht flybridges and exterior control stations
- Camper trailers and expedition vehicles requiring exterior switching
- Industrial mobile plant equipment exposed to washdowns and weather
