Blue Sea 12/24VDC 6 Position Circuit Breaker Switch Panel - Black
IP66 Front - Ignition Protected - Contura Switches with LEDs

DESCRIPTION
Water-Resistant Marine Switch Panel for Open-Cockpit and Flybridge Applications
Managing electrical systems in exposed marine environments requires hardware specifically built to withstand moisture, salt spray, and vibration. This six-position switch and circuit breaker panel from Blue Sea Systems offers a centralised, durable solution for controlling 12V and 24V DC circuits on board your vessel. Designed specifically for open-cockpit boats, flybridges, and exposed consoles, it combines reliable circuit switching with integrated overcurrent protection in a sleek black finish.
Standard automotive or unsealed switch panels quickly succumb to corrosion and short circuits when exposed to coastal conditions. By integrating weather-resistant Contura rocker switches and sealed circuit breakers into a unified assembly, this panel significantly reduces the risk of electrical failure when navigating rough waters or washing down the deck.
Engineered for Harsh Marine Environments
The faceplate of the panel achieves an IP66 ingress protection rating when properly installed with the included watertight mounting gasket. This means the front of the unit is completely sealed against dust and protected against powerful water jets from any direction, such as heavy sea spray or deck washdowns. Each circuit is protected by a push-button, reset-only thermal circuit breaker fitted with a heavy-duty waterproof boot, preventing moisture from tracking into the internal contacts behind the dash.
For day and night operational clarity, each ON-OFF Contura rocker switch features an embedded LED indicator. This provides immediate visual confirmation of active circuits, helping to prevent accidental battery drain when the vessel is moored or trailered. Unlike basic toggle switches that can snap or corrode, Contura switches are built to handle repeated actuation in damp, salty air while maintaining tactile feedback.
Safety First: Ignition Protected Design
Safety is paramount in marine electrical installations, particularly on vessels powered by petrol (gasoline) engines where explosive fumes can accumulate in bilges or under consoles. Both the switches and the circuit breakers in this assembly are ignition protected. This vital safety feature ensures that normal operation or circuit tripping will not ignite surrounding flammable vapours, making it compliant and safe for installation aboard petrol-powered runabouts, ski boats, and yachts.
Key Features and Benefits
- IP66 Weatherproof Front: Withstands heavy spray and powerful water jets when fitted with the supplied watertight mounting gasket.
- Integrated Circuit Protection: Features six push-button, reset-only circuit breakers complete with fitted waterproof boots for simple fault recovery.
- Visual Status Indicators: Embedded ON-indicating LEDs in every switch offer clear circuit monitoring in both bright sunlight and night-time conditions.
- Ignition Protected: Safe for installation on petrol-powered vessels, eliminating the risk of internal electrical arcs igniting bilge or console vapours.
- Dual Voltage Compatibility: Ready for integration into both 12V DC and 24V DC marine and off-grid vehicle electrical systems.
- Durable Contura Switches: Resistant to vibration, shock, thermoshock, moisture, and salt spray for long-term reliability.
Ideal Applications
While purpose-built for marine flybridges, centre consoles, and open runabouts, the robust nature of this panel also makes it highly effective for specialised off-road and industrial applications. It is well suited for controlling navigation lights, bilge pumps, livewell aerators, deck lighting, and communication gear on boats, as well as managing external work lights and auxiliary equipment on 4WD campers or service vehicles exposed to the elements.
Upgrade Your Helm Control
Equip your vessel with dependable circuit management built to handle exposed marine conditions. Add this Blue Sea Systems six-position switch panel to your setup for safe, consolidated control over your critical 12V or 24V DC accessories.
