Blue Sea 11.2mm Cable Clam Waterproof Antenna Cable Seal
Blue Sea 11.2mm Cable Clam Waterproof Antenna Cable Seal
No-Cut Coaxial Pass-Through - UV-Stabilised Above Waterline Mount

DESCRIPTION
Watertight Coaxial and Antenna Cable Pass-Through
Routing marine electronics, VHF antennas, or GPS wiring through a deck, cabin roof, or bulkhead often presents a frustrating challenge: the factory-installed connector is substantially wider than the wire itself. The Blue Sea 11.2mm Cable Clam provides a reliable, professional solution for creating a watertight pass-through without the need to cut off and re-terminate factory-fitted plugs. Designed specifically for marine, caravan, and off-grid applications, this unit ensures your interior spaces remain completely dry while maintaining the structural and electrical integrity of your wiring.
Retain Factory Terminations and Prevent Signal Loss
Splicing coaxial cables or installing aftermarket field connectors introduces significant risks to your communication and navigation systems. Cutting a factory-moulded plug can lead to impedance mismatches, signal attenuation, and moisture ingress within the cable braid itself. Furthermore, removing a pre-attached connector often voids the manufacturer warranty on high-end marine electronics and antennas. By accommodating the large connector during the initial pass-through and sealing tightly around the narrower 11.2mm cable jacket afterward, this cable gland eliminates the expense of replacement connectors and prevents poor connections caused by manual re-termination.
Key Features and Benefits
- No-Cut Installation: Allows large factory-installed coaxial and data connectors to pass through the mounting hole intact, saving installation time and preserving system warranties.
- Three-Part Compression Design: Combines a durable outer cap, an internal spacer insert, and a flexible base gasket to compress evenly around the cable and against the mounting surface.
- UV-Stabilised Construction: Built with marine-grade materials that resist degradation, cracking, and discolouration from prolonged exposure to harsh Australian sunlight and saltwater spray.
- Low-Profile Aesthetic: Features a smooth, contoured housing that minimises snagging hazards on decks and provides a clean, factory-finished look on cabin roofs or RV exteriors.
- Reliable Moisture Protection: Prevents water ingress into cabin interiors, protecting sensitive 12V and 24V electrical panels, headliners, and structural timber from rot and corrosion.
Engineered for Harsh Marine and Mobile Environments
Standard rubber grommets and basic plastic pass-throughs quickly perish when exposed to constant UV radiation and thermal cycling, leading to slow leaks that can cause extensive damage behind interior panelling. The Blue Sea Systems design utilises a robust, UV-stabilised cap paired with a specialised rubber seal and a flexible black mounting gasket. When fastened down, the assembly compresses to form a dependable barrier against rain, washdowns, and deck spray.
Please note: This product is engineered and rated for installations above the waterline only. It is not suitable for submerged hull penetrations.
Ideal Applications
- Routing VHF, AIS, and AM/FM antenna coaxial cables through boat decks, radar arches, and hardtops
- Installing GPS receivers, satellite domes, and transducer wiring on marine vessels
- Passing solar monitoring cables, cellular antennas, or satellite internet wiring through caravan, motorhome, and camper trailer roofs
- Weatherproofing exterior camera and sensor wiring on utility vehicles and off-grid cabins
