Blue Sea 10A A-Series Double Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker - Black

DESCRIPTION

Integrated Magnetic-Hydraulic Circuit Protection and Switching

The Blue Sea Systems A-Series 10A Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker is an industry-standard solution for marine, RV, and off-grid electrical distribution panels. By combining switching and overcurrent protection into a single device, it eliminates the need for separate switches and fuse holders. This integrated design simplifies wiring harnesses, reduces potential points of failure behind the dash, and keeps your control panel clean and intuitive.

Unlike standard thermal breakers that can suffer from nuisance tripping in hot engine bays or enclosed spaces, the A-Series utilises a precision magnetic-hydraulic mechanism. This ensures the 10A trip point remains consistent regardless of ambient temperature fluctuations, providing dependable protection across Australia's diverse climate conditions.

Engineered for Dual-Pole Safety and Compliance

As a double-pole configuration, this circuit breaker is ideal for simultaneously isolating both active and neutral conductors in AC systems, or positive and negative lines in ungrounded DC circuits. It features a mechanically linked common trip handle, meaning if a fault occurs on either pole, both circuits disconnect instantly. Furthermore, the internal trip-free design ensures the contacts cannot be manually held in the ON position while a fault current is present, preventing accidental equipment damage or electrical fires.

  • Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation: Delivers consistent overcurrent protection that is unaffected by high ambient temperatures.
  • Common Trip Handle: Linked dual toggles ensure both poles disconnect simultaneously during an overload condition.
  • Trip-Free Mechanism: Internal contacts disconnect during a fault even if the toggle actuator is physically held in the ON position.
  • Panel-Ready Hardware: Equipped with integrated brass threaded inserts for secure front-panel mounting and clear 10A labelling on the actuator.
  • Global Certifications: Meets ABYC standards, is UL 1077 recognised, TUV certified, CE marked, and CSA certified for international compliance.

Why Upgrade from Standard Thermal Breakers?

Inferior circuit protection devices often rely on simple bimetallic strips that warp under heat, leading to premature tripping in warm cabins or dangerous delays in cold environments. Choosing a Blue Sea A-Series breaker mitigates the risk of electrical faults and nuisance shutdowns. With clearly printed amperage markings on the toggle, a side-mounted technical specification label, and robust brass mounting inserts, it is built for long-term service in high-vibration mobile and marine environments.

Ideal Applications for 10A Double-Pole Breakers

The BS-7232B is engineered to drop directly into Blue Sea Systems 360 Panel System modules and custom switchboards. Common applications include:

  • Main or branch circuit isolation in marine switchboards and boat helm panels
  • AC and DC electrical distribution in caravans, motorhomes, and camper trailers
  • Ungrounded DC systems requiring simultaneous positive and negative disconnection
  • Off-grid power enclosures and custom industrial control panels
