Blue Sea 100A DualBus with 10 circuit screw terminals on an insulating black ABS base

Blue Sea 100A DualBus 10-Circuit Busbar

DESCRIPTION

Combined Positive and Negative Power Distribution in a Compact Footprint

Managing complex 12V, 24V, or 48V electrical systems requires clean, accessible, and safe wire termination. The Blue Sea 100A DualBus combines both positive and negative buses onto a single, insulated block, providing a consolidated location for electrical distribution connections. By integrating two isolated buses into one unit, this dual busbar eliminates the need to mount separate positive and negative blocks, saving valuable installation space in tight electrical cabinets, marine consoles, and caravan canopies.

Engineered for demanding mobile and off-grid environments, each bus features ten #8-32 (Approx. M4) screw terminals, allowing you to neatly terminate up to ten positive and ten negative circuits in one central location. This layout simplifies fault-finding and prevents the hazardous practice of stacking multiple ring terminals onto a single battery post, which can lead to loose connections, voltage drop, and overheating.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Dual Bus Architecture: Combines isolated positive and negative buses on one block to streamline wiring layouts and reduce installation footprint.
  • High Conductivity Copper: Manufactured from tin-plated CDA 110 / UNS 11000 pure electrical copper, offering minimal electrical resistance and superior protection against galvanic corrosion in marine and coastal environments.
  • Ample Circuit Capacity: Provides ten #8-32 (Approx. M4) screw terminals per bus, ideal for organising low-to-medium amperage branch circuits, electronics, and return paths.
  • Versatile Voltage Compatibility: Rated for a continuous 100A flow across systems up to 48V DC and 300V AC, making it suitable for standard 12V setups as well as higher-voltage 24V and 48V battery banks.
  • Reinforced ABS Base: Moulded from durable, heat-resistant ABS plastic that provides high dielectric strength and mechanical stability to prevent accidental short circuits against conductive mounting surfaces.

Engineered for Reliability in Harsh Environments

In marine vessels, 4WDs, and off-grid solar setups, vibration and moisture are constant threats to electrical integrity. Inferior brass or steel distribution blocks introduce unnecessary resistance into your system, generating heat and wasting battery capacity. The Blue Sea DualBus overcomes these issues by utilising industry-standard tin-plated copper. The tin plating acts as a protective barrier against oxidation and salt mist, ensuring clean, conductive contact surfaces over years of service.

With a low-profile height of just 5/8 in (15.88mm) and pre-drilled mounting holes, the unit sits flush within shallow wiring enclosures, behind dashboards, or inside battery boxes. Note that this specific model is an open-style busbar supplied without an insulating cover; it should be installed within an enclosed electrical panel or location protected from accidental contact by conductive objects.

Ideal Applications

  • Marine Electrical Panels: Consolidating helm electronics, navigation lights, bilge pumps, and instrument grounds behind the dash.
  • Caravans and Camper Trailers: Organising 12V and 24V branch circuits for internal lighting, water pumps, fans, and appliance negative returns.
  • 4WD Canopy Builds: Creating a neat, accessible distribution hub for dual battery accessories, work lights, and communication gear.
  • Off-Grid Solar and Industrial Enclosures: Managing control wiring, monitoring shunts, and low-voltage DC distribution up to 48V DC.

Upgrade Your Wiring Layout

Eliminate wiring clutter and reduce the risk of electrical faults in your power system. Add the Blue Sea 100A DualBus to your setup for a professional, corrosion-resistant distribution point across your caravan, boat, or 4WD electrical installation.
