Blue Sea 100A C-Series Single-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker

DESCRIPTION

High-Amperage Switching and Overcurrent Protection for Heavy-Duty Loads

The Blue Sea C-Series 100A Single-Pole Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker (BS-7549B) delivers dependable overcurrent protection and manual circuit switching in a single, robust unit. Specifically engineered for demanding electrical environments, this heavy-duty breaker is built to manage substantial electrical loads, making it an essential component for high-draw appliances such as power inverters, marine bow thrusters, and anchor windlasses.

By integrating both switching and protection functions, this C-Series unit simplifies electrical panel layouts and eliminates the need for separate battery switches and fuse blocks. Whether you are outfitting a commercial marine vessel, upgrading a caravan 12V or 24V power system, or building a custom off-grid electrical enclosure, this circuit breaker provides reliable circuit management where safety and space efficiency are paramount.

Flush-Mount Actuator for Enhanced Operational Safety

In mobile and marine applications, accidental switching can lead to unexpected power loss to critical systems or unintended activation of heavy machinery. The C-Series flat rocker is specifically contoured to sit completely flush with the mounting bezel when in the ON position. This low-profile geometry significantly reduces the risk of accidental operation caused by bumps, snagged clothing, or shifting gear in tight quarters.

For immediate visual confirmation of your system status, the recessed actuator reveals a high-visibility coloured indicator when switched to the OFF or tripped position. This intuitive design allows operators to identify the state of the circuit at a glance, even in dimly lit helm stations or crowded battery compartments.

Uncompromising Trip-Free Protection and Heavy-Duty Terminations

Safety during an electrical fault is critical to preventing wire damage and electrical fires. This Blue Sea breaker incorporates an internal trip-free mechanism, which ensures the internal contacts cannot be manually held closed during an overcurrent or short-circuit event. If a fault persists on the line, the breaker will trip internally regardless of physical pressure applied to the external rocker actuator, protecting your cabling and connected equipment until the fault is resolved.

Unlike standard residential or light-duty automotive switches that struggle with heat dissipation under heavy loads, the C-Series is constructed for high-current continuity. The rear of the unit features heavy-duty 5/16" (approx. M8 or 7.9mm) terminal studs designed to accommodate large-gauge ring terminals and busbars securely. These substantial studs provide maximum surface contact for low-resistance connections, while integrated brass threaded inserts on the front casing ensure secure, vibration-resistant panel mounting.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Dual-Function Design: Combines manual on-off circuit switching with reliable 100A overcurrent protection in one compact footprint.
  • Flush ON Rocker Profile: Sits flat when engaged to prevent accidental switching in high-traffic or mobile environments.
  • Clear Visual Status: Coloured actuator surface clearly indicates the OFF position for rapid system checks.
  • Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Internal contacts cannot be forced or held closed during an active overcurrent fault condition.
  • Heavy-Duty Terminal Studs: Equipped with 5/16" (approx. M8 or 7.9mm) studs to support large-gauge cables and high-current bus connections.
  • Secure Panel Mounting: Features brass threaded inserts for durable, rattle-free installation into custom switch panels and power distribution boards.

Ideal Applications

Designed to meet the rigorous demands of marine and mobile power generation, the BS-7549B is suited for a wide variety of high-amperage DC circuits:

  • Marine Vessels: Main circuit protection and isolation for bow thrusters, electric windlasses, and hydraulic pumps.
  • Caravans, RVs, and 4WDs: Dedicated switching and overcurrent safety for standalone power inverters, DC-to-DC chargers, and auxiliary battery banks.
  • Off-Grid and Industrial Systems: Reliable sub-panel isolation and load protection for remote power skids and commercial utility vehicles.

Upgrade Your High-Current Circuit Protection

Ensure your high-draw electrical equipment is safely isolated and protected against overload conditions. Integrate the Blue Sea C-Series 100A Flat Rocker Circuit Breaker into your marine or off-grid power distribution panel today for professional-grade system reliability.
