Blue Sea 100A C-Series Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker
Blue Sea 100A C-Series Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker
Magnetic-Hydraulic Trip-Free Design with Heavy-Duty Rear Studs

DESCRIPTION
Integrated Magnetic-Hydraulic Circuit Protection and Switching
The Blue Sea C-Series 100A Double-Pole Toggle Circuit Breaker is an industrial-grade electrical management solution engineered for demanding marine, RV, caravan, and off-grid power systems. By combining high-amperage circuit switching and precise overcurrent protection into a single device, this breaker eliminates the need for separate switches and fuse holders. This integrated approach streamlines switchboard design, reduces wiring complexity, and saves valuable panel space in compact electrical enclosures.
Designed with a linked white toggle handle, this double-pole unit simultaneously isolates two circuits or both legs of a single circuit. When an overload occurs on either pole, the internal mechanism trips both poles simultaneously, providing comprehensive isolation and safety for critical AC or DC distribution systems.
Advanced Magnetic-Hydraulic Technology
Unlike standard thermal breakers that rely on heat-sensitive bimetallic strips, the C-Series utilises a sophisticated magnetic-hydraulic trip mechanism. Standard thermal units often suffer from nuisance tripping when installed in high-temperature environments such as boat engine rooms or unventilated caravan battery bays. The magnetic-hydraulic design ensures the 100A trip threshold remains unaffected by ambient temperature fluctuations, delivering consistent performance exclusively in response to genuine current overloads or short circuits.
Furthermore, this unit features a trip-free mechanical design. In the event of a fault or dangerous overload, the internal contacts cannot be held closed manually by forcing the toggle switch into the 'ON' position. This critical safety feature mitigates the risk of cable fires and equipment damage during troubleshooting.
Key Features and Construction Benefits
- Magnetic-Hydraulic Operation: Delivers consistent overcurrent protection that is impervious to ambient temperature extremes, preventing false trips in hot enclosures.
- Simultaneous Double-Pole Switching: Linked white toggle actuator switches both poles together and trips both poles simultaneously if a fault occurs on either line.
- Trip-Free Safety Mechanism: Internal contacts automatically disengage during an overcurrent event and cannot be manually held closed against a fault.
- Heavy-Duty Rear Terminals: Robust rear stud terminals accommodate large-gauge battery and distribution lugs for low-resistance, high-current electrical connections.
- Secure Panel Mounting: Integrated brass threaded inserts provide superior thread strength and corrosion resistance for flush panel installations.
- Space-Saving Integration: Combines heavy-duty manual isolation and automatic circuit protection into one compact footprint.
Engineered for Harsh Mobile and Off-Grid Environments
Electrical systems in marine vessels, 4WDs, and off-grid solar installations are regularly subjected to vibration, moisture, and thermal stress. Inferior circuit protection components can degrade over time, leading to high-resistance connections, voltage drop, and eventual thermal failure. The Blue Sea C-Series is built with heavy-duty rear stud terminals to ensure high-amperage cables remain securely fastened under constant vibration, while the brass threaded mounting inserts prevent stripping during panel assembly.
Ideal Applications
The 100A double-pole configuration is suited for high-current switching and isolation across various applications, including:
- Main AC shore power or generator isolation where simultaneous switching of active and neutral lines is required
- High-capacity DC main circuit protection for 12V, 24V, or 48V battery banks
- Dual-circuit isolation in marine switchboards and custom caravan power distribution panels
- Overcurrent protection for heavy-duty inverters, bow thrusters, winches, and windlasses
Upgrade Your Electrical Distribution System
Ensure safe, reliable power management in your vessel, vehicle, or off-grid setup. Incorporate the Blue Sea C-Series 100A Double-Pole Circuit Breaker into your next switchboard build or electrical upgrade for dependable, temperature-stable circuit protection.
