Blue Sea 0-25A DC Ammeter with Internal Shunt
Backlit Analogue Face with 12V/24V Connections & 4-Wire Setup

DESCRIPTION
Reliable Analogue Current Monitoring for Marine and Off-Grid Electrical Systems
Streamlined Installation with an Integrated Shunt
Accurately monitoring the current draw of your electrical appliances is critical for maintaining healthy battery banks in marine, caravan, and off-grid applications. The Blue Sea DC 0–25A Ammeter provides dependable, real-time current visibility without the complexity of wiring an external shunt. Because the shunt is housed internally within the meter body, installation is significantly streamlined. This integrated approach saves valuable space behind your dash or switch panel and reduces the number of heavy-duty connection points required in your circuit, minimising the risk of voltage drop or loose terminations.
Featuring a straightforward four-wire connection, this analogue ammeter integrates directly into your DC system. Unlike lower-tier meters that require complex calibration or delicate external sensing wires for low-amperage loads, this unit is purpose-built for direct monitoring of circuits up to 25A. It is an ideal solution for tracking the output of small solar regulators, wind generators, or the consumption of specific branch circuits such as refrigeration, lighting arrays, and water pumps.
Engineered for Clear Visibility in All Lighting Conditions
Reading system diagnostics at a glance is essential, whether navigating at night or checking your caravan's power consumption in a dimly lit cabin. This DC ammeter features a clean, high-contrast dial with clearly marked 1A increments across the 0–25A scale. The prominent indicator needle delivers immediate, easy-to-interpret readings without the lag or screen glare sometimes associated with digital displays.
To support low-light operation, the meter face is equipped with an integrated backlight. The lighting circuit features separate connections compatible with both 12V and 24V DC power supplies, allowing you to wire the illumination directly into your vessel or vehicle's instrument lighting switch for seamless operation.
- Integrated Internal Shunt: Eliminates the need to purchase, mount, and wire a separate external shunt for loads up to 25A.
- Simple 4-Wire Connection: Reduces installation time and wiring clutter behind your electrical distribution panel.
- Dual-Voltage Backlighting: Separate terminals support 12V or 24V DC instrument lighting for clear night-time visibility.
- Precision Analogue Scale: Crisp 1A increments and a front-access zero adjustment screw ensure reliable, accurate readings.
- Marine-Grade Durability: Built by Blue Sea Systems to withstand the demanding conditions of marine and mobile environments.
Why Choose an Analogue Ammeter for Your Panel?
While digital multi-meters have their place in complex battery management, a dedicated analogue current gauge offers distinct advantages for specific circuit monitoring. Analogue needles show trends and fluctuations in current draw instantly, making it easier to spot cycling appliances like bilge pumps or compressor fridges. Furthermore, the front-accessible zero adjustment screw allows for quick manual calibration over time, ensuring your readings remain accurate through years of vibration and temperature changes.
Applications and System Integration
Designed to meet the rigorous standards of marine and automotive electrical builders, this 0–25A meter is suited for a wide variety of low-to-medium current applications:
- Marine Vessels: Monitor house circuits, navigation electronics, or small charging sources directly from the helm or cabin switchboard.
- Caravans and Motorhomes: Keep track of daily 12V or 24V appliance draw to prevent unexpected battery depletion while camping off-grid.
- 4WD and Service Vehicles: Track auxiliary battery loads or dedicated work equipment in canopies and mobile workshops.
