Blue Sea 0-150A Digital AC Ammeter with Current Transformer
Blue Sea 0-150A Digital AC Ammeter with Current Transformer
Splashproof Front, 3 Brightness Levels & Power-Saving Sleep Mode

DESCRIPTION
Precision Alternating Current Monitoring for Demanding Electrical Systems
Managing high-capacity alternating current loads requires reliable, real-time data to prevent circuit overloads and optimise energy usage. The Blue Sea Systems Digital AC Ammeter provides accurate current tracking from 0A up to 150A, making it an essential diagnostic and monitoring tool for marine vessels, off-grid setups, and custom recreational vehicles. Unlike standard analogue gauges that can be difficult to read at a glance or suffer from needle vibration in mobile environments, this digital AC current meter delivers crisp, unmistakable numerical readouts.
Safe, Non-Invasive Installation with Included Current Transformer
A standout advantage of this monitoring kit is the inclusion of a dedicated current transformer (CT) sensor. Instead of routing heavy-gauge, high-amperage AC wiring directly behind your dashboard or control panel, the AC conductor simply passes through the induction ring of the current transformer. This isolated sensing method significantly reduces installation complexity, minimises voltage drop, and enhances overall safety by keeping high-voltage AC lines contained within your main distribution enclosure.
Engineered for Harsh Marine and Off-Grid Environments
Electrical panels in boats, caravans, and industrial setups are frequently exposed to moisture, humidity, and changing light conditions. This digital ammeter features a robust, splashproof front face designed to withstand damp marine environments and accidental splashes without compromising internal electronics. To adapt to varying operational settings, the unit offers three user-selectable display brightness levels. You can easily increase visibility during bright daylight conditions or dim the screen in dark wheelhouses and sleeping quarters to preserve night vision.
Intelligent Power Conservation
In battery-dependent systems where every milliamp counts, parasitic draw from monitoring equipment can slowly deplete your reserves. To mitigate this risk, the meter integrates a manual sleep mode. When active monitoring is not required, users can manually blank the display, effectively reducing power consumption while the system remains wired and ready for instant activation when you need to check your AC appliances, shore power intake, or inverter loads.
Key Features and Benefits
- 0-150A AC Measurement Range: Accurately tracks heavy alternating current loads including air conditioners, water heaters, and shore power inputs.
- Included Current Transformer: Enables safe, inductive current sensing without cutting or routing heavy AC cables to the display head.
- Splashproof Front Panel: Protects the digital readout against moisture ingress in marine cockpits, galleys, and damp utility lockers.
- Three-Level Adjustable Brightness: Customise screen illumination for clear daytime viewing or non-intrusive night-time operation.
- Manual Sleep Mode: Blanks the digital screen on demand to conserve valuable auxiliary battery power during extended off-grid stays.
Ideal Applications
This 0-150A digital meter is purpose-built for system integrators and DIY enthusiasts seeking dependable AC load management. It is ideally suited for:
- Monitoring marine shore power connections and onboard AC generators
- Tracking output loads on large pure sine wave inverters in caravans, motorhomes, and RVs
- Observing energy draw in off-grid cabins, tiny homes, and mobile workshops
- Upgrading outdated analogue switchboards to modern, precision digital dashboards
