DESCRIPTION

Reliable Analogue AC Current Monitoring for Marine, Off-Grid, and Industrial Panels

Maintaining complete visibility over your alternating current loads is critical for protecting your inverter, generator, or shore power infrastructure. This AC ammeter provides a dependable, straightforward solution for monitoring high-output systems up to 100A. Engineered for seamless integration into marine switchboards, off-grid power enclosures, and mobile electrical panels, it delivers immediate visual feedback on your system's current draw without relying on complex digital interfaces or auxiliary power supplies.

By providing a clear, continuous reading of your AC consumption, this panel meter helps operators prevent circuit breaker trips, balance high-draw appliances, and avoid overloading critical power generation equipment. Whether you are managing a heavy-duty inverter in a custom motorhome or overseeing a backup generator on a commercial vessel, accurate load management is always within view.

Safe and Simplified 2-Wire Installation

Traditional inline ammeters require routing heavy-duty, high-current cables directly to the back of your dashboard or control panel, introducing installation challenges and potential safety hazards. This unit eliminates those risks by utilising an included AC current transformer (sensing coil). The main load-carrying wire simply passes through the centre of the coil, which steps down the signal to a safe, low-level 50mA AC measurement current.

This inductive sensing method means you only need to run a lightweight, 2-wire connection from the transformer to the back of the meter face. It significantly reduces voltage drop, simplifies wiring looms in tight spaces, and isolates the operator panel from high-amperage conductors.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Inductive Current Sensing: Includes a dedicated AC current transformer for non-invasive load measurement, keeping heavy-gauge AC wiring safely away from your instrument panel.
  • High-Visibility Analogue Scale: Features a high-contrast dial with a bold black needle and distinct 2A increments, allowing for rapid, at-a-glance load assessments.
  • Self-Powered Operation: Draws its minimal operating energy directly from the sensing coil, requiring no external DC power supply or battery connection to function.
  • Mechanical Calibration: Equipped with a front-accessible zero adjustment screw to ensure precise needle alignment and ongoing measurement accuracy over time.
  • Broad Voltage Compatibility: Suitable for monitoring single-phase AC systems operating up to 480V AC, making it versatile enough for standard 230V/240V Australian setups as well as heavy industrial applications.
  • Compact Panel Footprint: Designed with a 2-5/8 inch (Approx. 66.7mm) face width and recessed mounting points for a secure, professional fit into custom switchboards and modular distribution panels.

Engineered for Demanding Environments

Unlike standard commercial meters that can suffer from calibration drift due to vibration or thermal cycling, this professional-grade analogue gauge is built to endure the rigours of mobile and marine environments. The absence of delicate LCD screens or microprocessors means there is nothing to boot up, freeze, or wash out in direct sunlight. The recessed screw mounting points ensure the unit stays firmly anchored in high-vibration applications such as boat helm stations, service trucks, and off-grid plant rooms.

Upgrade your electrical distribution board with a proven, maintenance-free monitoring solution. Add this 0 to 100A AC ammeter and current transformer kit to your system configuration today for safer, more predictable power management.
