DESCRIPTION
Professional 250A Power Distribution for Marine and Automotive Systems
The Blue Sea 250A 4x 5/16 Stud Busbar is engineered to provide a robust and reliable central point for consolidating high-amperage wiring in demanding electrical setups. Designed for use in boats, caravans, RVs, and off-grid 4WD systems, this 250A busbar ensures efficient power distribution while maintaining a clean and organised installation. By collecting negative returns or positive feeds into one heavy-duty location, it significantly reduces cable clutter, improves system safety, and simplifies future troubleshooting.
Superior Materials for Harsh Environments
In the marine and automotive environment, corrosion and vibration are the enemies of reliable electrical connections. Unlike generic grade products that may utilise brass or lower-grade alloys, this Blue Sea busbar is constructed from Tin-Plated Copper CDA 110 / UNS 11000. This premium material choice delivers exceptional conductivity to minimise voltage drop, while the tin plating offers superior resistance to corrosion, even in salt-mist prone coastal areas.
The base is manufactured from UL 94-V0 rated glass-reinforced thermoplastic, ensuring high heat resistance and structural durability. This fire-retardant material provides peace of mind, knowing your electrical system is built on a foundation designed to withstand high temperatures and tough conditions.
Secure High-Torque Connections
A standout feature of this range is the design of the terminal studs. The 5/16"-18 (Approx. M8) stainless steel studs are insert-moulded directly into the base. This intelligent engineering eliminates the need for a securing nut at the back, allowing you to apply high torque to the terminals without the risk of the stud spinning or loosening over time. This ensures excellent electrical contact and secure retention of heavy-duty cable lugs.
Versatile Application and Safety
Whether you are designing a negative busbar return for a large battery bank or a positive distribution hub, this unit is rated for continuous currents up to 250 Amperes. It is also suitable for modern energy systems, supporting up to 48V DC and 300V AC, making it future-proof for lithium battery upgrades and higher voltage solar arrays.
The raised bus design allows for easy wrench access when attaching multiple large cables to a single stud. Additionally, the recessed mounting holes are designed to prevent accidental electrical shorts to metal mounting surfaces, such as aluminium boat hulls or steel vehicle chassis.
Compact at approximately 149mm in length, this 4-stud configuration is perfect for tight electrical lockers or smaller battery boxes where space is at a premium but high capacity is still required.
