Blue Sea MaxiBus Insulating Cover for 2127 & 2128
Blue Sea MaxiBus Insulating Cover for 2127 & 2128
Clear Polycarbonate Cover for ABYC Compliance and Accidental Short Protection

DESCRIPTION
Blue Sea MaxiBus Insulating Cover for 2127 & 2128: Essential Safety for High-Current DC Systems
Protecting high-amperage connections is a critical aspect of designing safe and reliable electrical systems for marine, RV, and emergency vehicle applications. The Blue Sea MaxiBus Insulating Cover for 2127 & 2128 provides a robust solution for insulating exposed busbar terminals, significantly reducing the risk of accidental short circuits caused by dropped tools, loose gear, or inadvertent contact.
Engineered to withstand the harsh conditions of mobile and offshore environments, this insulating cover integrates seamlessly with MaxiBus 2127 and 2128 configurations. By enclosing live terminals, it ensures your installation meets rigorous safety standards while maintaining accessibility for maintenance and inspection.
High-Impact Polycarbonate Construction
Durability is paramount in engine rooms and battery compartments where vibration, heat, and potential chemical exposure are constant factors. This cover is constructed from a clear polycarbonate top paired with a reinforced nylon base, offering superior impact resistance compared to standard brittle plastics. The transparent design is a key functional feature, allowing system installers and surveyors to visually inspect connection integrity and check for signs of corrosion or overheating without unlatching or removing the safety cover.
Achieve ABYC and USCG Compliance
For marine vessels, compliance with safety standards is not optional. This insulating cover is designed to help your system meet the requirements set by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) for insulating non-grounded current-carrying conductors. By preventing accidental contact with energised parts, the Blue Sea MaxiBus Insulating Cover for 2127 & 2128 enhances the overall safety profile of your vessel or vehicle, protecting both the electrical system and the crew.
Versatile Installation with Secure Retention
Flexibility during installation is ensured through a smart breakout design. The side skirts feature pre-moulded knockouts that can be easily removed to accommodate various cable sizes and entry angles, ensuring a clean and professional finish regardless of your wiring layout. Once installed, the cover is held firmly in place by distinctive yellow snap-on retaining clips. These latches provide a secure hold that resists vibration but allows for quick, tool-free removal when service is required.
