The VOTRONIC TRS relay is connected between the starter battery and the supply battery and combines the
charging options such as alternator and mains charger to make better use of the existing vehicle batteries .
When driving, the starter and on-board batteries are charged by the alternator, and the built-in isolating relay also allows the on-board battery to receive a large amount of charging current.
In operation, the relay is switched off when the engine is not running, the loads are supplied by the on-board battery, while the starter battery is not touched and retains its full ability to start.
In stationary operation with a mains charger, solar system or gasoline generator, the on-board battery is initially charged. After this is well charged, the starter battery is charged and kept fit for longer periods of time (charge retention).
This function is indicated by a green LED.

The intelligent charge maintenance circuit ensures that the starter battery is recharged appropriately (0.1-3.5 A), depending on the state of charge, so that the greater part of the charging current is sent to the needy supply battery.
The starter battery cannot be overcharged.
