48V MPPT Solar Charge Controllers for Off-Grid Homes and Sheds
Every controller here can charge a 48V battery bank. In a Victron model name the first number is the maximum PV voltage and the second is the charge current: a SmartSolar 250/100 takes strings up to 250V and charges at up to 100A.
Choosing a controller
- 100/20: a small shed or cabin array.
- 150V models (35A to 100A): home arrays with shorter strings.
- 250V models (60A to 100A): longer strings and longer cable runs.
- MPPT RS 450/100 and 450/200: large arrays on strings up to 450V, with galvanic isolation between the PV and battery sides.
SmartSolar models have Bluetooth built in. BlueSolar models are set up through a VE.Direct Bluetooth dongle or a GX device. VE.Can models connect to a GX device and to each other over CAN-bus. -Tr models have screw terminals for the PV cables and -MC4 models have MC4 connectors.
