DESCRIPTION
Tesla White Double Pole 10 Amp GPO Outlet: Enhanced Safety for Caravans, RVs, and Critical Installations
Engineered for Superior Circuit Protection in Mobile and Fixed Applications
The Tesla White Double Pole 10 Amp GPO Outlet delivers a higher standard of electrical safety by isolating both active and neutral conductors simultaneously. Unlike standard single-pole outlets, this double pole power point provides complete circuit disconnection, reducing the risk of residual current and enhancing protection for sensitive equipment and personal safety. It is an essential component for caravan power points, RV electrical systems, and any installation where reliable isolation is critical.
Designed and approved to Australian standards, this outlet is mandatory for all caravans, camper trailers, and recreational vehicles under AS/NZS 3001. It is equally suited to domestic, commercial, and construction environments where extra switching integrity is required. The slimline gloss white cover plate integrates seamlessly into modern interiors while the red switch indicators provide clear visual confirmation of the 'off' position.
Why Double Pole Switching Matters
In a standard single-pole GPO, only the active wire is switched, leaving the neutral connected. A double pole mechanism breaks both active and neutral, ensuring no potential difference remains at the outlet. This is particularly important in caravan and RV installations where polarity reversal or floating earths can occur. By fully isolating the circuit, this 10 amp double pole GPO helps protect against electric shock and reduces the likelihood of nuisance tripping in RCD-protected circuits.
- Simultaneous active and neutral disconnection for complete circuit isolation
- Mandatory compliance for caravan and recreational vehicle electrical systems
- Red switch indicators for instant visual confirmation of switch status
- Slimline 118mm x 74mm plate with a clean gloss white finish
- Australian Approved (Approval Number V110160) for assured safety and quality
Built for Demanding Environments
The Tesla Standard Series is manufactured to withstand the rigours of mobile and high-use applications. The robust switch mechanism is rated for frequent operation, while the flame-retardant polycarbonate plate resists impact and discolouration. Whether installed in a camper trailer power point, a workshop, or a commercial kitchen, this outlet maintains reliable performance over its service life. The 5-year replacement warranty underscores its durability and the manufacturer's confidence in the design.
Installation is straightforward for a licensed electrician, with standard mounting centres and generous rear clearance to accommodate typical wiring looms. The terminals accept a range of conductor sizes, making it compatible with both solid and stranded building wire commonly used in 10 amp GPO circuits.
Applications Beyond Caravans
While specifically required for recreational vehicles, the benefits of double pole switching extend to many other scenarios:
- Residential: Added safety for children's rooms, laundries, and outdoor areas
- Commercial: Reliable isolation for office workstations, retail displays, and hospitality equipment
- Construction: Temporary power boards and site sheds where supply integrity varies
- Healthcare: Areas requiring enhanced electrical protection for sensitive devices
- Off-grid and solar: Integration with inverter supplies where neutral switching is beneficial
For those seeking a matching aesthetic, this outlet is also available in black and with silver covers, allowing coordination with existing switch plates and décor.
