Tesla Black Power Point Double Pole 10Amp GPO Outlet

DESCRIPTION

Tesla Black Double Pole 10Amp GPO Outlet: Enhanced Safety for Caravans, RVs, and Critical Applications

Engineered for Compliance and Protection in Mobile and Fixed Installations

The Tesla Black Double Pole 10Amp GPO Outlet is a purpose-built power solution designed to meet the stringent safety requirements of caravans, recreational vehicles, and camper trailers. Unlike standard single-pole outlets, this double pole power point simultaneously isolates both active and neutral conductors, providing an additional layer of protection against electrical faults. This makes it an essential component for any mobile or off-grid electrical system where safety and compliance are non-negotiable.

Beyond mobile applications, this 10amp GPO is equally suited to domestic, commercial, and construction environments where enhanced electrical isolation is required. Whether you're upgrading a workshop, fitting out a site office, or installing power in a marine vessel, the Tesla Black Double Pole GPO delivers reliable performance and peace of mind.

Why Double Pole Switching Matters

In standard single-pole outlets, only the active wire is switched, leaving the neutral connected. In the event of a wiring fault or polarity reversal—common in portable generator supplies or older installations—this can create a shock hazard even when the switch is off. A double pole GPO eliminates this risk by disconnecting both active and neutral, ensuring complete isolation. This is why Australian Standards mandate double pole switching in caravans and RVs, and why it's increasingly specified for high-safety commercial and residential projects.

Key Features

  • Double pole switching isolates both active and neutral for maximum safety
  • 10Amp rating suitable for standard Australian appliances and power tools
  • Individual rocker switches with red indicator lights for clear power status
  • Durable black gloss finish resists scratches and complements modern interiors
  • Compact faceplate (118mm x 74mm x 11mm) fits standard mounting brackets
  • Australian Approved (Approval No. V110160) for full compliance and insurance peace of mind
  • 5-year replacement warranty for long-term reliability

Built for Australian Conditions

The Tesla Black Double Pole GPO is manufactured to exacting standards, with a robust construction that withstands the rigors of mobile and outdoor use. The gloss black faceplate is not only stylish but also easy to clean and resistant to fading. The integrated rocker switches feature a positive action and a red indicator that provides instant visual confirmation of power status, reducing the risk of leaving appliances inadvertently energized.

Installation is straightforward, with a standard plate size that retrofits into most existing wall boxes. The terminals are designed to accept typical wiring sizes used in caravan and residential circuits, ensuring a secure and compliant connection.

Versatile Applications

While specifically required for caravan power points and RV electrical systems, this double pole outlet is also ideal for:

  • Marine and boat electrical panels where isolation is critical
  • Workshops and garages powering tools and machinery
  • Commercial kitchens and wet areas requiring enhanced safety
  • Construction site temporary power boards
  • Home offices and entertainment units for a sleek, modern look

With its combination of safety, compliance, and aesthetics, the Tesla Black Double Pole 10Amp GPO is a smart choice for anyone seeking a reliable black power point that doesn't compromise on performance.

Installer Responsibilities and System Design

Tesla Electrical Components products are electrical products and must be selected, installed, connected, tested, commissioned, and maintained by a suitably qualified person where required by law.

Many products covered by this warranty are intended to be installed into a broader electrical installation, switchboard, circuit, appliance connection, enclosure, control system, building, machine, or operating environment. Once installed, the product may form only one component of a larger system.

The installer, electrical contractor, system designer, integrator, dealer, or end-user is responsible for ensuring that each product is suitable for the intended application and is installed correctly.

Issues or damage arising from incorrect installation, poor system design, incorrect product selection, incorrect circuit protection, incompatible equipment, inadequate enclosure sealing, unsuitable mounting, overloading, or failure to follow instructions are not product defects and are not covered by this warranty.

  • Appropriate Installation: All products must be installed in accordance with the product instructions, applicable Australian Standards, relevant electrical rules and regulations, manufacturer specifications, rating labels, and recognised industry best practice.
  • Electrical Ratings: The installer must ensure that voltage, current, frequency, temperature, IP rating, switching duty, cable size, cable termination, enclosure rating, and environmental exposure are suitable for the application.
  • System Compatibility: The installer or integrator is responsible for selecting and using compatible connected equipment, wiring, fasteners, glands, conduits, enclosures, breakers, RCDs, contactors, relays, accessories, and protective devices.
  • System-Wide Performance: This warranty covers the quality of the individual Tesla Electrical Components product supplied. It does not guarantee the performance, safety, compliance, or reliability of the broader electrical installation or system into which the product is installed.
  • Ingress Protection and Weatherproof Products: Products with an IP or weatherproof rating must be installed in a way that preserves that rating, including correct mounting orientation, sealing, cable gland selection, conduit entry, cover closure, gasket condition, and drainage where applicable.
  • Protection and Fault Isolation: The installer must incorporate suitable fuses, circuit breakers, RCDs, isolators, surge protection, overload protection, earthing, bonding, thermal protection, and other protection required for the installation.
  • Service Accessibility: Products must be installed in a manner that allows reasonable access for inspection, testing, servicing, removal, and replacement.

We are not responsible for additional labour, structural modification, access equipment, removal of fixtures, cabinetry, panels, flooring, sealants, adhesives, wiring, conduits, switchboards, or other costs arising from installation methods that restrict reasonable access to the product.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty covers manufacturing defects or failures of the supplied product arising from normal use in accordance with the product’s specifications. It does not cover any failure, damage, performance issue, deterioration, or loss caused wholly or partly by external factors, misuse, incorrect installation, or circumstances outside the product’s intended use.

  • Other Exclusions: Damage caused by accident, impact, vandalism, theft, transport damage after delivery, misuse by third parties, Force Majeure events, or events beyond reasonable control.

Making a Warranty Claim

Important: If you suspect a fault with a Tesla Electrical Components product supplied by us, do not immediately remove or uninstall the product unless it is unsafe to leave it in place or unless removal is required by a qualified person for safety reasons. Premature removal may make it difficult to assess the original cause of the issue.

  1. Contact the Place of Purchase: Warranty claims should be initiated through the authorised dealer, reseller, distributor, or place of purchase.
  2. Provide Proof of Purchase: The customer must provide a valid invoice or proof of purchase showing the purchase date, product model, and place of purchase.
  3. Provide Product Information: The customer should provide the product model, rating, batch number or serial number where applicable, installation date if known, and a clear description of the issue.
  4. Provide Installation Evidence: We may request photographs or videos showing the product in its installed location, wiring, mounting, connected equipment, protection devices, labels, and any visible damage.
  5. Troubleshooting and Assessment: The dealer, reseller, distributor, or support team may ask the customer or installer to perform safe checks, provide measurements, confirm installation details, or test the product in a suitable configuration.
  6. Return for Inspection: If the fault cannot be confirmed remotely, the product may need to be returned for inspection, testing, repair, or replacement assessment. Return instructions must be followed. The product must be safely packaged to prevent transit damage.
  7. Evaluation and Outcome: Once received, the product will be inspected and tested. If the fault is confirmed to be a covered manufacturing defect, an appropriate remedy will be provided. If the product is not faulty or the issue is caused by an excluded factor, the claim may be rejected.

Remedies Under Warranty

If a defect covered by this warranty is confirmed, we may, at our discretion and subject to Australian Consumer Law, provide one or more of the following remedies:

  • repair;
  • replacement;
  • refund;
  • credit;
  • supply of replacement parts; or
  • another appropriate remedy required by law.

Repair: If the defect can be resolved by repair, the product or relevant component may be repaired by an authorised party.

Replacement: If the product is not reasonably repairable, a replacement may be supplied. The replacement may be the same model, a superseded equivalent, or a product with similar specifications.

Refund or Credit: In some cases, a refund or credit may be provided. Refunds will usually be handled by the original place of purchase and will not exceed the original purchase price paid for the affected product unless otherwise required by law.

No Extension of Original Warranty: Repair or replacement under this warranty does not restart or extend the original warranty period. The warranty continues from the original purchase date.

Ancillary Costs: This warranty does not cover electrician labour, removal, reinstallation, testing, certification, access equipment, travel, downtime, or modification costs unless required by law or agreed in writing.

Limit of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, liability under this warranty is limited to the repair, replacement, refund, credit, or approved remedy relating to the defective Tesla Electrical Components product supplied.

To the extent permitted by law, this warranty does not cover special, indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including loss of revenue, loss of profit, downtime, loss of use, damage to other equipment, property damage, personal injury, third-party labour, electrician charges, travel costs, access equipment, structural modification, freight not approved in advance, or economic loss.

Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
