DESCRIPTION
Genasun GVB-8 Custom Voltage Boost MPPT Solar Charge Controller for Lithium Batteries
Advanced MPPT Boost Technology for Off-Grid and Mobile Energy Systems
The Genasun GVB-8 Custom Voltage Boost MPPT Solar Charge Controller is engineered for applications where the solar panel voltage is lower than the battery voltage. Unlike conventional controllers that step down voltage, this unit efficiently boosts power from a lower-voltage panel to charge a higher-voltage lithium battery pack. This capability allows the use of larger, more cost-effective panels, reducing overall system expense while maintaining high performance.
Designed and manufactured in the USA, the GVB-8 is built for mission-critical reliability. It has been proven in the world’s most demanding environments—from years at sea to harsh Antarctic winters and high-altitude solar-powered aircraft. Each controller undergoes comprehensive electrical testing to ensure dependable operation when it matters most.
High-Speed MPPT: 15 Hz Tracking for Dynamic Conditions
Not all MPPT controllers are equal. Many use a slow sweep-and-sleep method, scanning the voltage range every 30 to 60 seconds. This approach is adequate for stationary panels under clear skies but falls short in mobile or variable conditions. The Genasun GVB-8 features a 15 Hz MPPT tracking speed, adapting to changing light 15 times per second. This ensures maximum energy harvest during cloud transients, on moving vehicles, and in partial shading—capturing power that slower controllers miss.
Precision Charging for Lithium Batteries
The GVB-8 employs a computer-controlled constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) charge profile tailored for lithium batteries. This precise regulation optimises charge cycles, extends battery lifespan, and maximises usable capacity. The custom voltage output is factory-set to your specified level, ensuring a perfect match for your lithium battery bank.
