Blue Sea Contura 2 Double-Pole Double-Throw (ON)-OFF-(ON) Panel-Mount Switch, Black
Blue Sea Contura 2 Double-Pole Double-Throw (ON)-OFF-(ON) Panel-Mount Switch, Black
Momentary Action, Salt Spray & Vibration Resistant for Marine Panels

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty Momentary DPDT Switching for Marine and Off-Road Electrical Systems
The Blue Sea Systems Contura 2 DPDT Switch is engineered to provide dependable, momentary circuit control in harsh environments. Featuring a three-position (ON)-OFF-(ON) momentary action, this switch automatically springs back to the central OFF position when released. This specific double-pole double-throw configuration is essential for applications requiring precise, temporary actuation or polarity reversal, such as operating boat trim tabs, anchor windlasses, hydraulic pumps, or 4WD winch controls.
Unlike standard commercial switches that can corrode or fail prematurely when exposed to the elements, the Contura 2 series is purpose-built for longevity. It solves the common problem of moisture ingress and mechanical failure on exposed dashboards and open helm stations, significantly reducing the risk of electrical shorts or stuck actuators during critical operations.
Engineered for Extreme Environments
Whether you are navigating choppy coastal waters or corrugated outback tracks, your electrical components are subjected to constant stress. This panel-mount rocker switch is rigorously tested to withstand intense vibration, mechanical shock, and thermoshock. Its robust internal construction and integrated panel-mount gasket provide formidable protection against moisture and salt spray, making it a trusted choice for marine vessels, caravans, and heavy-duty industrial machinery across Australia.
The Contura 2 actuator features a black finish with raised, textured dimples on the surface. This ergonomic design provides positive tactile feedback and enhanced grip, allowing operators to confidently identify and actuate the switch even with wet hands, while wearing gloves, or in low-light conditions.
Key Features and Benefits
- Momentary (ON)-OFF-(ON) Action: Spring-return mechanism ensures circuits are only energised while actively pressed, preventing accidental continuous operation of motors or actuators.
- DPDT Pole Configuration: Double-pole double-throw contacts allow you to control two isolated circuits simultaneously or wire the switch for seamless DC motor polarity reversal.
- Harsh Environment Protection: Built to resist salt spray, moisture, vibration, shock, and extreme temperature fluctuations for long-term reliability.
- Tactile Contura 2 Actuator: Dimpled black rocker surface delivers superior grip and unmistakable physical feedback in wet or rough conditions.
- Seamless Panel Integration: Equipped with an integrated mounting gasket and designed specifically to snap into Blue Sea Systems Contura Water Resistant Panels and Contura Switch Mounting Panels.
Versatile Applications
Because of its dual-pole momentary architecture, this switch is highly versatile for custom 12V and 24V electrical installations. It is widely used by marine electricians and auto-electrical professionals for:
- Marine trim tabs, tilt and trim systems, and電動 (electric) anchor windlasses
- Dual-wiper speed controls or wash/wipe combinations
- 4WD and commercial vehicle winches, linear actuators, and hydraulic trays
- Caravan slide-outs, electric awning controls, and levelling jacks
