Blue Sea Cable Clam 14.22mm Cable Seal for Antenna Cables
Blue Sea Cable Clam 14.22mm Cable Seal for Antenna Cables
Waterproof Deck Gland - Retains Factory Plugs - Above Waterline Only

DESCRIPTION
Waterproof Marine and RV Coaxial Cable Pass-Through
Routing communication and navigation cables through a vessel deck, bulkhead, or vehicle roof often presents a significant installation challenge. The Blue Sea Cable Clam 14.22mm Cable Seal provides a reliable, waterproof pass-through specifically engineered for antenna and coaxial cables. Designed to accommodate pre-terminated wiring, this deck gland allows installers to route cables cleanly into the cabin or interior without the need to cut off and re-crimp factory-installed connectors.
By preserving the original factory terminations, you eliminate the expense, time, and potential signal loss associated with fitting aftermarket plugs in the field. It is an ideal cable management solution for marine electronics, VHF antennas, GPS receivers, and off-grid RV communication setups.
Engineered for Signal Integrity and Weather Protection
Standard cable glands often require you to sever the factory plug to feed the wire through a narrow aperture, introducing a point of failure where moisture can wick into the coaxial braid or where poor soldering can degrade transceiver performance. The Blue Sea Systems Cable Clam overcomes this using a clever split-ring architecture and a pre-bored internal compression seal.
- Retains Factory Connectors: Allows large connectors up to 14.22mm in diameter to pass through the mounting hole while sealing tightly around the narrower cable jacket.
- Watertight Compression Design: Utilises an internal compression seal and a dedicated base gasket to prevent water ingress between the cable, the housing, and the mounting surface.
- UV-Stabilised Housing: The durable white plastic cap protects the internal elastomeric seal from harsh Australian sun and salt spray, preventing premature cracking and degradation.
- Split Mounting Ring: Distributes fastener pressure evenly across the base to ensure a uniform seal without stressing the cable jacket.
- Clean, Low-Profile Finish: Conceals drill holes and exposed sealant, reducing snag hazards on decks and roofs while providing a professional marine-grade appearance.
Reducing Installation Risks
Compared to basic rubber grommets or unsealed pass-throughs that rely entirely on messy silicone sealants, this mechanical compression seal significantly reduces the risk of cabin leaks, headliner damage, and core rot in fibreglass or composite decks. Retaining the factory-moulded connector also reduces the risk of impedance mismatches and high VSWR readings on sensitive RF and antenna lines.
Application and Mounting Guidelines
This cable gland is suited for routing VHF, AIS, radar, satellite, and solar monitoring cables through fibreglass, aluminium, or timber surfaces on boats, yachts, caravans, and motorhomes. Please note: This product is designed for mounting above the waterline only and is not rated for continuous submersion.
