Blue Sea 230VAC 30A 8358 Rotary Switch Panel 3 Positions + OFF
Blue Sea 230VAC 30A 8358 Rotary Switch Panel 3 Positions + OFF
Blue Sea 3-Source Changeover Switch with Polarity LEDs (Circuit Breakers Excluded)

DESCRIPTION
Heavy-Duty 230V AC Source Selection for Marine and Off-Grid Power
Managing multiple alternating current inputs requires a dependable, mechanically sound isolation interface. The Blue Sea Systems 8358B AC Rotary Panel provides a safe, compact solution for switching between up to three separate 230V AC power sources, such as dual shore power connections, an onboard generator, or an inverter. Engineered for installations where primary circuit protection is located elsewhere in the distribution system, this panel streamlines your AC switchboard while preventing accidental cross-connection of incompatible power supplies.
At the core of the panel is an industrial-rated 9011 rotary switch capable of handling continuous loads up to 30A. By physically isolating both poles (active and neutral) during transition, it mitigates the risk of back-feeding power into the grid or damaging sensitive onboard electronics and inverter-chargers. The positive OFF position ensures complete disconnection from all incoming supplies when performing system maintenance or leaving a vessel unattended.
Key Features and System Benefits
- Three-Source Management: Effortlessly transition a single load circuit between three distinct 230V AC inputs (commonly configured for two shore power inlets and one generator).
- Industrial-Grade Switching: Integrates the heavy-duty 9011 series 2-pole rotary switch for positive engagement and reliable electrical isolation under load.
- Integrated Visual Diagnostics: Features green LED indicators to confirm power availability and red LEDs to immediately warn of hazardous reverse polarity conditions before equipment is engaged.
- Marine-Grade Construction: Manufactured from heavy 1/8" (approx. 3.18mm) 5052 aluminium alloy with a durable two-part polyurethane slate grey finish to resist corrosion in coastal and high-humidity environments.
- Compact Footprint: Ideal for tight electrical lockers and custom dashboards where dedicated AC circuit breakers are housed in a separate enclosure.
Enhanced Safety with Reverse Polarity Detection
Connecting to unfamiliar shore power pedestals or external generators introduces the risk of reversed active and neutral wiring. This dangerous condition can energise appliance chassis and create severe shock hazards. The integrated red reverse polarity LED indicator provides an immediate visual warning upon connection, allowing operators to disconnect the faulty supply before switching the load online. Simultaneously, the green LED indicators provide clear confirmation that a valid voltage supply is present at the selected input.
Built for Demanding Environments
Unlike standard commercial switchgear that can degrade rapidly in mobile or marine applications, this rotary selector panel is built to withstand vibration, moisture, and salt-laden air. The rigid 5052 aluminium faceplate prevents flexing during switch operation, while industrial-grade markings ensure clear identification of your power sources over the lifespan of the system. Note that as an isolation and selection panel, upstream overcurrent and residual current protection (such as RCBOs or double-pole circuit breakers) must be installed separately in accordance with local wiring standards.
Upgrade Your AC Power Distribution
Integrate the Blue Sea Systems 230V AC 30A Rotary Panel into your vessel, motorhome, or off-grid cabin to ensure safe, intuitive management of your shore and generator power inputs.
