Blue Sea 12/24VDC 8-Position Circuit Breaker Switch Panel, White
Blue Sea 12/24VDC 8-Position Circuit Breaker Switch Panel, White
IP66 Waterproof Front, Contura Switches & Ignition Protected

DESCRIPTION
Water-Resistant Marine Circuit Protection for Exposed Helm Installations
Managing multiple electrical circuits in exposed marine environments requires hardware engineered to withstand constant moisture, salt spray, and vibration. This 8-position water-resistant panel integrates reliable circuit protection and intuitive switching into a single, streamlined unit. Designed specifically for open-cockpit vessels, flybridges, and centre consoles, it provides central control for critical onboard electronics, lighting, and pumps across both 12V DC and 24V DC electrical systems.
Unlike standard interior switch panels that rapidly corrode or short-circuit when exposed to the elements, this unit is built to survive harsh coastal conditions. It combines heavy-duty switching with individual push-button circuit breakers, eliminating the need for a separate fuse block and simplifying behind-dash wiring for marine electricians and DIY boat builders.
Engineered for Harsh Marine Environments
Water ingress is a primary cause of electrical failure on the water. To mitigate this risk, the panel front achieves an IP66 ingress protection rating when properly installed with the supplied watertight mounting gasket. This ensures the face is sealed against dust and powerful water jets from deck washdowns or heavy seas.
Each of the eight positions features a genuine Contura rocker switch paired with a dedicated push-button reset-only circuit breaker. The breakers are shielded by flexible waterproof boots to prevent moisture from penetrating the internal trip mechanisms. If an electrical overload occurs, the breaker trips to protect your wiring and equipment, and can be manually reset with a simple press once the fault is cleared—removing the hassle of locating and replacing blown fuses in rough conditions.
Key Features and Technical Advantages
- Dual Voltage Compatibility: Rated for seamless integration into both 12V DC and 24V DC marine and off-grid electrical architectures.
- IP66 Weatherproof Front: Protects against powerful water jets and driving rain when mounted using the included watertight gasket.
- Ignition Protected: Safe for installation aboard petrol-powered vessels, reducing the risk of igniting explosive bilge fumes during operation.
- Integrated Contura Switches: Eight durable ON-OFF rocker switches provide positive tactile feedback even when wearing gloves.
- Visual Status Indicators: Embedded LEDs illuminate when switches are in the ON position, accompanied by backlit circuit labels for clear identification during night navigation.
- Resettable Circuit Protection: Push-button thermal circuit breakers with protective waterproof boots safeguard downstream electronics without the need for spare fuses.
Enhanced Safety for Petrol and Diesel Vessels
Safety is paramount when installing electrical distribution equipment near fuel tanks or engine bays. Both the Contura switches and the push-button circuit breakers are fully ignition protected. This critical safety standard ensures that any internal electrical arc generated when toggling a switch or tripping a breaker is contained, making the panel compliant for installation aboard petrol-powered (gasoline) boats as well as diesel craft.
Ideal Applications
With eight independent circuits, this white-faced switch panel offers ample capacity to manage a comprehensive suite of marine accessories. Its clean, high-contrast aesthetic suits modern fibreglass consoles and aluminium dashboards alike. Common applications include:
- Open-cockpit fishing boats, RIBs, and centre consoles exposed to spray
- Flybridge helm stations requiring weatherproof secondary control
- Controlling navigation lights, anchor winches, bilge pumps, and livewell aerators
- Managing power to chartplotters, VHF radios, and deck floodlights
- Specialised off-road vehicles or commercial service bodies requiring washdown-safe 12V/24V switching
