DESCRIPTION
Victron Battery Indicator Panel: Real-Time Voltage Monitoring for 12V Lead-Acid Systems
Stay Informed, Protect Your Battery Investment
The Victron Battery Indicator Panel provides a straightforward, at-a-glance method to monitor the state of charge of your 12V lead-acid battery. Designed as a dedicated accessory for the Victron Blue Smart and Blue Power IP65 charger range, this panel eliminates guesswork and helps prevent deep discharge damage. By offering clear visual feedback through its three-colour LED system, it enables timely charging decisions, extending battery service life and reducing the risk of unexpected power loss in critical applications.
Unlike generic voltage meters that require interpretation, this panel translates battery voltage into an immediate, actionable status: green indicates a full charge, orange suggests it is time to charge, and red warns of a low state of charge. If no light is visible, the battery voltage has dropped to a critically low level, signalling an urgent need for attention to avoid permanent damage. This intuitive design is particularly valuable in installations where regular manual voltage checks are impractical, such as in caravans, marine vessels, and remote off-grid systems.
Engineered for Harsh Environments
Built to withstand the demanding conditions often encountered in mobile and outdoor installations, the panel carries an IP65 protection rating. This ensures complete protection against dust ingress and resistance to low-pressure water jets from any direction. The robust housing and sealed construction make it suitable for use in engine bays, exposed marine consoles, and outdoor equipment enclosures where moisture and particulate contamination are constant concerns.
The integrated M8 eyelet connectors (approx. 5/16" ring terminals) provide a secure, vibration-resistant connection to the battery terminals, minimising the risk of intermittent contact that can lead to inaccurate readings or electrical noise. The 1.5-metre cable, with a cross-section of 3.3 mm² (approx. 12 AWG), offers sufficient reach for most installations while maintaining low voltage drop. A 30A ATO blade fuse is incorporated inline to protect the circuit against overcurrent conditions, adding a layer of safety without the need for additional external fusing.
Key Features at a Glance
- Three-colour LED status indicator for immediate battery state-of-charge assessment
- IP65-rated enclosure resists dust and water, ideal for harsh environments
- M8 eyelet connectors ensure a secure, low-resistance battery connection
- Integrated 30A ATO fuse provides overcurrent protection
- Ultra-low back current drain of 0.9 mA preserves battery charge during storage
- Compact 45 x 26 x 50 mm housing with 39 x 22 mm panel cut-out for flush mounting
- 1.5 m cable with 3.3 mm² conductors balances flexibility and minimal voltage drop
- Compatible with 12V flooded, GEL, and AGM lead-acid battery types
Designed for Seamless Integration
Installation is simplified by the panel’s compact dimensions and standardised cut-out requirement. The flush-mount design allows it to be integrated neatly into dashboards, control panels, or battery compartments, providing a professional finish. The dedicated charging socket on the panel accepts the output connector from compatible Victron Blue Smart IP65 chargers, creating a tidy, single-point connection for both monitoring and charging. This eliminates the need to access the battery terminals directly for routine charging, reducing wear on connections and improving user convenience.
The panel operates across a voltage range of 6 to 15V DC, accommodating the normal voltage fluctuations of a 12V lead-acid system during charging and discharging cycles. Its minimal back current consumption of just 0.9 mA ensures that even when left connected indefinitely, it will not significantly discharge the battery—a critical consideration for seasonal vehicles or equipment stored for extended periods.
Applications
This indicator panel is purpose-built for 12V lead-acid battery systems where reliable state-of-charge information is essential. Typical use cases include:
- Caravans and camper trailers requiring quick battery status checks
- Marine vessels where IP65 protection is mandatory for longevity
- Off-grid solar installations using Victron IP65 chargers as a primary or backup charge source
- Automotive and 4WD dual-battery systems
- Portable power packs and equipment trailers
Note: This panel is designed exclusively for 12V lead-acid batteries (flooded, GEL, AGM) and is not suitable for lithium or other battery chemistries.

WARRANTY
Victron Energy Limited Warranty Policy
Direct Customers
Victron Energy provides the following warranty to any direct customer (OEM, distributor or dealer) in relation to any products that Victron Energy has directly sold to the direct customer. This warranty is not an end-user warranty between Victron Energy and an end-user, and end-users shall not have any rights or remedies under this limited warranty towards Victron Energy directly. The direct customer shall, in turn, ensure that the end-user is provided with a warranty identical to this warranty, subject to applicable local mandatory law.
End-Users
Victron Energy may also provide a warranty directly to end-users, in which case the below warranty conditions equally apply to such warranty. In that case, end-users shall claim their warranty at their place of purchase or through the original direct customer of Victron, which can be found through the support section on Victron’s website. Hence, the direct customer shall on behalf of Victron Energy deal with any warranty claims made under any warranty that Victron Energy may provide directly to end-users. This support section on Victron’s website will provide further guidance on the procedure for end-users to make a claim under this limited warranty.
If the end-user is a consumer – a natural person who is acting for purposes which are outside that person's trade, business, craft or profession – the following applies. The rights and remedies granted to the consumer under this limited warranty are without prejudice to the consumer’s statutory rights. Furthermore, the consumer is entitled by law to remedies from the seller free of charge in the event of a lack of conformity of the goods (such as repair, replacement, price reduction or rescission), which remedies are not affected by this limited warranty.
Warranty
Victron Energy warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of 5 years from the date of purchase by the original end-user, with a maximum of 66 months from the Victron Energy invoice date.
