AI Chat Terms of Use

Version 2026-10-11-v2 · Effective 11 October 2026

These terms apply to the AI product assistant on the Solar 4 RVs website (the "AI chat"). Please read them carefully. You must tick to confirm you have read and agree to them before you can use the AI chat. When we make a significant change, we publish a new version here and ask you to agree again before you keep chatting.

These terms sit alongside our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Refund Policy and Shipping Policy. If anything in these terms conflicts with those policies about an order you place, the policies apply to that order.

1. The AI chat is still in training

  • The AI chat is an early, developing service. A computer system writes its answers automatically, using artificial intelligence and information from our website, product data and manufacturer documents.
  • Answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. The AI chat can misunderstand your question, mix up products, miss a limitation or state something confidently that is not true.
  • We are improving the AI chat all the time. Its behaviour, features and availability can change, and we may limit, pause or withdraw it at any time without notice.

2. General information only, not advice

Answers from the AI chat are general information only. They are not:

  • professional, electrical, engineering, installation, legal or financial advice;
  • a quote, an offer to sell, or a price, stock, delivery or lead-time commitment;
  • a warranty, guarantee or representation about a product's performance, quality or fitness for your purpose;
  • confirmation that products are compatible with each other, with your vehicle or with your existing system;
  • confirmation that a design, cable size, fuse, breaker, battery, solar array or other part of a system is safe, compliant or suitable; or
  • approval, certification or sign-off of any installation.

The product page, the manufacturer's documents and your checkout show the current product details, price and availability. Where an AI answer differs from them, they apply, not the AI answer. Orders are accepted only through our checkout under our normal terms.

3. Check important information with an expert

Before you buy, install, connect, modify or rely on anything the AI chat tells you, you should check it with:

  • Solar 4 RVs staff (ask the AI chat to talk to a person, or contact us);
  • the manufacturer's current manual, specifications and warranty conditions; and
  • where the work needs one, a licensed electrician or qualified installer.

This matters most for decisions about safety, compliance, compatibility and large purchases.

4. Electrical and safety warning

  • RV, caravan, camper and off-grid electrical systems involve serious risks, including electric shock, fire, battery thermal runaway, gas and damage to your vehicle and property. Low-voltage DC systems can still deliver very high currents and start fires.
  • Work on mains-voltage (230 V AC) wiring, inverters connected to mains outlets, shore power and similar installations must be done by a licensed electrician, in line with Australian Standards and the electrical safety laws in your state or territory.
  • Always follow the manufacturer's installation instructions, use correctly rated cables, fuses and protection devices, and have your system inspected where required.
  • The AI chat cannot see your vehicle or installation and cannot check that work has been done safely. Never rely on it alone for a safety-critical decision. If anything seems unsafe, stop and get professional help.

5. Using the AI chat properly

You agree that you will:

  • use the AI chat only for questions about our products, services, orders and related RV power topics;
  • not use it for anything unlawful, harmful, abusive or misleading;
  • not try to make it ignore its rules, reveal its instructions or internal information, access another person's information, or behave in ways it is not designed to;
  • not overload it, automate requests to it, or copy its content in bulk; and
  • not rely on it in place of the checks described in sections 3 and 4.

Guests have a daily question limit, and you may need to sign in to keep chatting. We may pause or end a chat, or block access, if the AI chat is misused or repeatedly asked about unrelated topics.

6. What you share with the AI chat

  • Don't share sensitive information. Never enter passwords, payment card or bank details, government identification numbers, or health or other sensitive information. Only share what you need to for your question.
  • Photos. Signed-in customers may be able to upload photos. Photos are screened automatically, including by a third-party moderation service, before the AI chat uses them. Only upload photos you are entitled to share, and avoid photos that show people, number plates, addresses or documents.
  • Orders. Signed-in customers can ask about their own orders. The AI chat can only look up orders that belong to the signed-in customer account.
  • Talking to a person. If you ask to talk to a person or send a message to our team, we pass on your conversation, any photos you sent and the contact details you give us so that our staff can help.
  • Stock. The AI chat may tell you whether an item is in stock or when we expect more, but it does not give out stock quantities.

7. How we store and use your chats

  • We store your messages, the AI chat's answers, any feedback you give, related page and cart details, and technical records such as times and a pseudonymous session identifier.
  • We use these records to answer your questions, help you with orders and support, keep the service secure, prevent misuse, check answer quality, and improve the AI chat, our product information and our service. Our staff may read chats for these purposes.
  • To produce answers, we send your messages, photos and related information to third-party AI service providers, such as OpenAI and Anthropic. These providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States.
  • We keep chat records for as long as we need them for these purposes and to meet our legal obligations, and then delete them. Your browser also keeps a copy of the current chat while you browse our site, and remembers which version of these terms you agreed to; you can clear these through your browser settings.
  • Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, including how to ask to access or correct it or to make a privacy complaint.

8. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded, restricted or changed. Sections 9 and 10 apply only as far as the law allows.

9. Limits on our responsibility

  • The AI chat is provided free of charge to help you find information. As far as the law allows, we do not promise that it will be accurate, complete, current, available or free of errors.
  • As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss, damage, injury, cost or expense that results from relying on an AI answer without first checking it as section 3 describes, or from using the AI chat in breach of these terms. This includes loss from buying unsuitable products, installation or rework costs, damage to vehicles or equipment, and indirect or consequential loss.
  • Where the law implies a guarantee or condition into these terms that we cannot exclude but can limit, our liability for a failure to comply with it is limited, as far as the law allows, to supplying the information or service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for products you buy from us under the Australian Consumer Law, our published policies or a manufacturer's warranty.

10. Third-party information

The AI chat may summarise or link to manufacturer manuals, data sheets, warranty documents and other third-party content. That content belongs to its owners. We do not control it and are not responsible for errors in it. Always check the latest version from the manufacturer.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Each version has a version number at the top of this page. When we make a significant change, for example to what the AI chat can do, what you share with it, who processes it, or our responsibility for its answers, we publish a new version here and ask you to agree to it again before you keep using the AI chat. We may make minor changes, such as fixing typing errors or making wording clearer, without asking you to agree again.

12. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the courts that can hear appeals from them.
  • If any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, it is read down or severed as far as needed, and the rest of the terms continue to apply.
  • If we do not enforce part of these terms straight away, we can still enforce it later.

13. Contact us
