Century Batteries
Explore reliable Century AGM, gel and marine deep cycle batteries built for Australian off-grid conditions.
Reliable Century Deep Cycle & Marine Batteries for Off-Grid Touring
Century Batteries has been a cornerstone of Australian automotive and off-grid power for over 90 years. Known for their iconic blue and yellow casing, Century deep cycle batteries are engineered to handle the harsh vibration and temperature extremes of Australian touring. Whether you are outfitting a 4WD canopy for weekend camping, a marine vessel for deep-sea fishing, or a caravan for extended touring, our selection of Century AGM, gel, and flooded marine batteries provides reliable, continuous power for 12V fridges, lighting, and essential off-grid appliances.
Explore the Century Battery Range
Century AGM Deep Cycle Batteries: Perfect for 4WDs and caravans navigating rough terrain, Century AGM batteries offer excellent cyclic performance and fast recharge times. With a sealed maintenance-free design, they can be safely mounted inside cabins or under bonnets (in dual-purpose models) without the risk of acid spills. We carry popular sizes from the compact 55Ah up to heavy-duty 165Ah units.
Century Gel Deep Cycle Batteries: For applications where deep discharges are common, Century 12V gel batteries (including the 37Ah and 70Ah models) deliver robust longevity. Gel technology is highly resilient in elevated temperatures and offers exceptional cycle life for remote off-grid solar systems.
Century Marine Pro Batteries: Out on the water, you need a power source that handles wave pounding and engine vibration with ease. The Century Marine Pro series combines deep cycle capability with high Cold Cranking Amps (CCA), serving as the ultimate dual purpose starting and house battery for boats and marine applications. Our range includes capacities from 65Ah (580 CCA) up to the massive 200Ah Marine Pro Cruiser (1200 CCA).
Built Tough for Harsh Conditions
Century batteries are designed with unique internal features to withstand punishing off-grid environments:
- High-density active paste: Reduces water loss and improves charge acceptance for superior off-grid performance.
- Vibration resistance: Polypropylene cases and mud rack designs isolate paste deposits, preventing short circuits on corrugated roads.
- Sealed maintenance-free technology: Advanced labyrinth lids provide spill-proof protection up to 90 degrees, keeping your battery boxes clean.
- High-porosity separators: Envelope separators improve puncture resistance while enhancing electrolyte dispersion for consistent power delivery.
Sizing or selection tips
Matching the right Century battery to your electrical system is crucial for long-term reliability:
Calculate Your Daily Draw: Tally the power consumption (in Amp-hours) of your 12V fridge, lighting, and water pumps. For lead-acid, AGM, and gel batteries, you should avoid discharging below 50 percent capacity. If you consume 50Ah daily, you require at least a 100Ah battery.
Starting vs. Deep Cycle: If you need to crank an engine and run a sounder, select a Century Marine Pro dual-purpose battery with a high CCA rating. For dedicated canopy power or solar storage, select a dedicated AGM or Gel deep cycle battery.
Charging Compatibility: Ensure your mains chargers or DC-DC chargers are set to the correct profile (AGM, Gel, or Flooded). Applying an incorrect voltage profile can prematurely dry out or undercharge your battery.
Physical Footprint: Lead-acid and AGM batteries are heavy. Confirm the dimensions of your battery trays and the weight capacity of your mounting location before upgrading to larger 150Ah or 200Ah units.
