Solar electric tourist ferries

Date Posted:9 December 2016

Our owner/engineer Phil made a number of trips to Queensland to oversee installation of our solar systems onto two solar-electric ferries built for service on Perth's Swan River in WA.

He was able to design the system so that 18 of our thin, flexible panels could be been fitted to the canopy of each ferry plus Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) solar charge controllers.

These solar-electric boats are environmentally friendly with no pollution of air, water or sound and have a historic design with modern comfort for twelve passengers.

Waters trials took place off Runaway Bay Marina at the Gold Coast before the ferries were transported to Perth.
