The cables are made up in our workshop.

The sizes follow Victron's installation manual for the Phoenix Smart 12/3000, which recommends 90mm² cable for battery cable runs up to 5 m and a 400A fuse. The kit uses the next size up, 95mm². There is no fuse inside the inverter, so the fuse goes on the positive cable close to the battery. The ceramic fuse has a 10 kA interrupting rating, which suits the high short-circuit current of lithium batteries.

What's in the kit

1 x Victron Phoenix Smart 12/3000 Inverter

1 x 1000mm 95mm² Battery Cable Pair (red and black, M8 lugs)

1 x 300mm 95mm² Positive Battery Cable Lead (M8 lugs)

1 x Exotronic 400A High-Interrupt MEGA-Style Ceramic Fuse with Holder

Good to know

Victron recommends mounting the inverter as close as possible to the batteries.

The inverter has screw terminals for its 230V output, so its AC wiring must be installed by a licensed electrician.

Not included: the chassis earth cable and the battery isolator.
