Featuring a Double Pole Single Throw (DPST) configuration and a momentary OFF-(ON) action, this switch allows operators to simultaneously energise two separate circuits or isolate both positive and negative leads with a single press. Once pressure is released, the spring-loaded actuator returns to the off position, making it the preferred choice for intermittent applications where continuous activation could damage equipment.

Engineered for Harsh Marine and Off-Road Conditions

Standard automotive switches often succumb to corrosion, water ingress, and mechanical failure when exposed to coastal environments or heavy corrugations. The Contura series solves this problem through rigorous environmental sealing and robust internal construction. Built to withstand extreme vibration, physical shock, thermoshock, moisture, and relentless salt spray, this switch maintains reliable electrical contact over prolonged service life. Its grey rocker actuator and black panel-mount housing integrate seamlessly into Blue Sea Systems water-resistant panels and custom dashboard cutouts alike.

Certified Ignition Protection for Maximum Safety

Electrical arcing inside an unsealed switch can be catastrophic in enclosed spaces where volatile fumes accumulate. This Contura rocker switch meets strict UL1500 and ISO8846 ignition protection requirements. It is thoroughly tested and safe for installation aboard petrol-powered boats, inside marine engine rooms, or near fuel storage compartments in specialised vehicles, significantly reducing the risk of vapour ignition during operation.

Key Features and Benefits

Momentary OFF-(ON) Action: Spring-return mechanism remains active only while depressed, preventing accidental continuous operation of temporary loads.

DPST Pole Configuration: Controls two independent circuits simultaneously or switches both active and neutral/ground lines for complete isolation.

Certified Ignition Protected: Complies with UL1500 and ISO8846 standards for safe installation aboard petrol-powered vessels.

Environmental Resilience: Specifically engineered to resist salt spray, moisture, thermoshock, and heavy vibration in exposed helm stations.

Modular Integration: Designed to snap directly into Blue Sea Systems Contura water-resistant panels and standard rectangular mounting apertures.

Versatile Applications for Momentary Dual-Pole Switching

The combination of a momentary action and dual-pole architecture makes this switch highly versatile across marine, caravan, and commercial vehicle electrical systems.
